As automakers shift from horsepower to kilowatts to comply with stricter environmental regulations,

I would expect far fewer EV startups compared to tech startups. Building cars is EXPENSIVE and requires a TON of capital.

God as a non-parent I had no idea whatsoever.

Life must be great there.  That would explain why 3x as many Europeans move to the US as vice versa.

This seems so childish and petty. I guess that’s perfect then for a Tonka truck for big boys.

Not really no.

You are actually allergic to food. That’s terrifying.

Yeah, but, you have to drive a Bolt then...

The thing to take from a cite to Wikipedia is less “It is on Wikipedia, it must be true”, and more, “This is a well-known phenomenon.” Wikipedia has the advantage of being written for the layman, too—because a cite to something with a Flesch–Kincaid grade level expressed in scientific notation comes across more like

So a 6-10% commission makes it ok, but 30% is monopolistic and anti competition?

How much does Apple have to pay to maintain the existence of the app store? They pay developers, storage, servers, etc. That’s what the 30% pays for. No one says it’s unfair competition when Macy’s sells its own brands in its stores alongside other brands or when you go to an REI store and there is REI gear sold right

Spotify CAN do that, by rolling the cost of commission into price of in-app purchases. But they won’t do that because it’s bad for business.

I’ll never get the idea of complaining that you don’t like a company giving their own services priority on... their own products?

Um ... this is literally competition. There’s nothing Apple is doing in this particular instance to leverage their control of the Apple Store or iOS to their advantage. ALL of the bundled apps are already sold separately for a price; they’re less when sold as a bundle. This is absolutely no different than any other

Meh, I run in watch collector circles and I’ve always seen “deployment” and “deployant” used interchangeably.

It feels especially weird that Spotify is speaking out on this because they have offered bundles with Hulu for years. If Spotify has a legit complaint, it certainly shouldn’t be that Apple is offering a better value than them and that’s not fair. Competitors have been trying to beat each other on value since the dawn

This is different than Amazon Prime how exactly?

I don’t see a problem. Every one of Apple’s apps are a crappier version of another app you can already get. For people that think they’re actually ok, they’ll save some money. For people that don’t, they’ll keep using Peloton, Spotify, Netflix, etc.

Good lord, this happens every time. Apple puts out new stuff, it cannibalizes popular app functions, app creators scream, people kibitz, and then it blows over as Apple gets its way.
