Center back seat with Latch if available. Needs to be supplemented with a properly installed top tether. If you don’t have that, then seat belt through the car seat (as in, not holding in the child, just the car seat).

Car seat safety is so underrated. I get affordability being an issue but I often see parents who are willing to drop $1000 on a stroller unwilling to spend $100 on a car seat. They may all meet the standards, but some are far safer than others.
