Do you guys have different supermarkets than Southern California does? Target, Walmart and Vons all carry Stone, Elysain, Lagunitas, wheat beers, and usually something local to the state.

California is such a frustrating state from a car owner perspective. On one hand the weather is awesome, money to be had and no safety inspections so you get a fantastic mix of vehicles on the road.

A $5000 VIN seems like the perfect segway to a Porsche-like pricing model for options. $60k base price but ceramic brakes, a bit of leather and a touch of carbon fiber will put it over $80k

I did for many years as well.

Commute means different things to different people.  10 miles to work in LA is a long time to sit in the car.  Also, its not a small number of people dailying a pony car, corvette, or any number of 400-500hp vehicles who drive 30-45 minutes each way.

If you do any kind of commuting, the DCT is just plain awesome.

The older I get the more I change my tune on the save the manuals mantra. I like manuals. What I don’t like is the over computerized manuals that have started being featured in any high hp vehicle. You can get a manual that wont let you money shift, wont let you rev past redline, and will prevent you from rolling…

1st: Maybe the actual issue here is how terrible the EPA mileage calculations are. We all know they have no basis in the real world. Its like emissions testing all over again.

Does it have adjustable pedals as well? Its somewhat hit and miss these days but many cars have the option to move the pedals closer as well.

It’s clearly more difficult when it comes to actually performing a crash test but even the military runs scenarios based on a wide range of human body types (since like 1992) when considering safety. MIL-STD-1472 covers a pretty huge portion of the population.

These things were basically free on lease for quite a while.  I can’t imagine $8k is a good deal for one.  These things will start popping up everywhere pretty soon.

The thing I’ve always hated about the corvette is the inability to see over the hood.  The C7 is the first one I’ve really liked and its mostly a looks thing.
