Yea, it was “lets go play Nintendo” until the SNES came out. That doesnt change the way it was advertised or that it has always been N.E.S and S.N.E.S for differentiating the two.

Official advertising from Nintendo in America names this the N.E.S. Additionally, there never was a NES in Japan, it has always been the famicom. Any reference to how its pronounced clearly came after US marketing had its way.

Nope. It will always be an acronym for (Super) Nintendo Entertainment System. I can’t stand when I hear people call it the “Ness” as no one called it that when the system came out. It was marketed a certain way in America and thats what drove calling it the N.E.S.
