This actually worries me more than autonomous vehicles for some reason.

Worse part is that this place is filled with them, its not some random occurrence, you basically watch for them and hope you can slow down enough that they roll by before you get there.

I don’t disagree but I think the word swerve in this case applies to jerking the wheel without looking to avoid an object, not assessing the situation, checking blind spots and making a rational decision to move around something in the road.

Or rather that they don’t care unlike most of the single spacers around here...

This is what baffles me about trying to attach age to a typing style. Anyone in the early to mid 80s grew up on early computers but no typewriters. They all learned to double space after a period. There are major gaps before and after due to people who never touched a typewriter or computer until a much later age

How many words were wasted picking apart a study linked from a tweet from an account nobody reads? Look, I use two spaces becuase its what I grew up on (I’m in my early 30s...not exactly age descrimination range) and most of the people around then do the same. Do I care if you use 1 or 2 spaces? Not at all because it

I didn’t say absolutely hit anything, some judgement needs to be had (swerving around another car is a good example). But teaching people to always swerve is terrible advice (like around bags, cardboard, etc.). Better a hole in your bumper than hitting another car or flipping your own.

You’re thinking of the montero...

This should be at the top. Besides the crazy aspect, the fact that they teach people to swerve away from objects in the road is insane.

There are a lot of CC related ones like don’t use it in the rain and turns. Most of these had to do with older vacuum based CC systems. A modern system with ABS and traction control doesn’t care what the weather is like.

Weird, my Dad is a fantastic driver and taught me all about basic maintenance on his vehicles. Turns out the guy hates driving and working on his cars, its just something he happens to be good at.

Its doable. I think its easier downshifting than upshifting but a perfect rev match makes this possible. If you want a buffer you can just barely push in the clutch to disengage the current gear faster.

My mom swore that cruise control was activated on some cars by accelerating to a specific speed, backing off the gas, and then pressing the gas down a bit.

To make matters worse, the 90s gen Hondas really drove home crumple zones as viable safety features. I’ve been hit hard in an Integra and a Prelude and walked away from both.

I think the car and hauler were more awesome before they got the wrap.

Damn I love anything related to the 787. Those intake runners are amazing, I had no idea they moved so much. They must have some interesting system to feed them as well.

It’s not my thing but as most project cars are basically worth what you can strip and sell them for I think this one might be NP. The kit starts at $15k without the engine and gearbox. Throw in flares, wheels and brakes and you are pushing $23k without the car. You wont make any money but I bet you could break even.

Cheating of course. But that’s expected. They likely sold off the 350 that came with it and the tires, brakes, seats (“safety equipment”) don’t fall under the $500 rule. Honestly, it only matters if you get challenged on it.

Man, you break it and then return it saying it wasn’t as good as you thought...harsh.

wtf is whiskey and ginger beer? Dark and Stormy is the only correct answer here.
