Well, not everyone's lucky enough to get raped and have to find a way to cope with it in a way that feels meaningful and empowering to them, all while having to balance that with rigorous academics and the constant emotional hell of being around their rapist, I guess.

When you can't elicit compassion, you may be able to cause embarrassment. Here's hoping.

She's already suffering. Now people will have to witness it in a more tangible way.

Someone (@fmanjoo) made this analogy on twitter

A bigger problem is that the Gawker media does this to everyone. They link to stolen pictures or nude pics all the time (or even NSFW them on a Gawker website). Freaking Jezebel linked to the celeb nudes : /.

Yeah, there are a LOT of folks who seem to think that "free speech" means that you are legally obligated to say every foolish thing that comes into your stupid skull.

reddit is 4chan for people with jobs.

I agree that this is a horrible violation of privacy and Reddit is hypocritical for not treating this just like any other privacy violation, but is it possible that there might be a few cracks in the soap box that the Gawker blogs are collectively getting on here?

Of course Wrecking Ball isn't about Liam, that would imply that she had something to do with it being written.

I lurve me some long gauzy dresses, prairie prints, braids, boyfriend cut jeans...But I'm 5'2" and while I'm very thin I'm curvy, with a pronounced waist and flared hips and a (if I may say so) a nicely rounded butt. if I may offer an opinion, he did it too aggressively for this to work. She didn't look into it because she was worried about her balance, and he looked like the jerk on the dance floor copping too many feels.

But it isn't like any of these people we were mentioning were exposing their private parts. You were talking about inane clothing like showing straps, showing legs, breasts. If a guy after a soccer practice took his shirt off? Okay. A girl? Shame. There is shame going on regarding how bodies are inherently sexual and

Or, and this is revolutionary I know, why don't we try raising a generation that doesn't think that way? In 40 years instead of being embarrassed by your racist grandfather, what if instead you are embarrassed by your old perv of a grandfather that thinks tank tops are sexual? Just because something is a certain way

You can say no one is talking about rape, but this kind of thing plays into rape culture. What does it really matter what someone else wears? I went to a high school that a very loose dress code (basically, no clothes advertising alcohol or cigarettes, no gang signs - which isn't really a problem in a wealthy school

PSYCH. I'm from Texas! I just don't live there anymore. Never been to New York. Don't live in California. 6/10 for condescending tone.
