No, they're alive people, they're mostly dead people, or they're abjectly fictional. All this zombie vampire ghost stuff feels rather tiresome of late. I want fantasy out of my SciFi, dangit! In the case of SHIELD they get a pass, just by virtue of being a catch-all. I'm expecting to see an alien Power Ring any time

Perhaps they will eventually be revealed to be involved in larger events in ways we didn't even realize.

Wilbur?

I mean sure, you could use a cow. But pound for pound, I think a cat is super-effective.

I dunno, it just didn't really catch my interest. (Also, the anime was meh. ;) I honestly didn't watch enough to have an opinion beyond meh.

The same thing happened to him, with the inability to get shot. He's NOT psychic, he's just involved, & he can have a certain confidence that the answers will come to him.

This one fits my mental image of Dirk better, visually. He's not as supremely confident in this, but I think it works for the premise (wanting/needing a partner). It's got a lot more action, & the laughs come more often. I feel this relates the feel of the Dirk Gently universe better (again, happenstance, see above

The Expanse & Dark Matter have been fulfilling my SciFi cravings this year. Can't wait for more of those. I was enjoying the first season or two of SHIELD (I love Coulson's character… I love Patton Oswalt cameos in anything… Wishing for more Cobie Smulders…), but I've grown tired of their new cast. In particular I

Who is this Doctor of which you speak? ;P

Honestly, I think if you go into ANY on-screen rendition of a Douglas Adams novel, expecting a straight adaptation, you'll ALWAYS be disappointed, because his writing simply doesn't lend itself to video.

Agreed! It is so hard to pull off constant happenstance as a central Deus Ex Machina, but that's at the core of the original Dirk Gently novels & I felt they managed it far better than could reasonably be expected.

I definitely recommend viewing it in a binge. I'm not sure I could have followed all the coinciding details otherwise.

Yah, Estevez was great. I hope they find reason to bring him back in for additional scenes, even if he must stay dead. Actually, eyebrows was great too.

Yes! Had they even met? I felt like that was their first interaction, & yet a kinship exists; Just two sane guys doing normal things with their holistic guides.

Well that illustrates how wildly different viewers can be: I found the sibling strife between Amanda & Todd entirely tiresome & predictable. I enjoyed the lack of overt flirting (or alternately, clashing) between Todd & Farah though. I enjoyed the show most when the focus was off the interpersonal relationships. Being

Interesting. I didn't like Orphan Black at all.

I loved the in-passing reference to sofas & Norse gods, at the beginning of the series. I feel Dirk might reasonably have opened up a bit following that escapade, showing his more vulnerable side. (Though certainly he looks a bit young for it.) I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with the next 10

It's at 42 user reviews right now. I had to take a screenshot of that…

Hm, that method could leave people stuck in this case, since the previous attempt at a Dirk Gently TV series featured a Svlad much closer to the confident buffoonery of the books.

Indeed, I am also anticipating a tank shell exploding point-blank, upon exiting the barrel.
