I had that same feeling. After consideration though, I think Elijah Woods is just always playing the same character.

No spoilers, please; I haven't finished watching all of the prior series' episodes in sequence yet. ;D

I loved it. Then again, I also loved their last attempt at this series. It definitely pays to binge-watch it all at once, since the plot is so convoluted & silly; but having read the original Dirk Gently books, I knew to expect that.
