The Trump cannot read conspiracy* may be the best thing that Sam Bee has done. And that is one high fucking bar.

Especially when it was done like this! This is epically fucked. And, I see that several Dems voted in favor. I want to chew a hole in the wall right now, I’m so fucking angry.

How the hell have we reached the point where the confirmation of a Supreme Court Justice is confined to “shit we couldn’t cover today”?

I wa confused by the comment about walking on her elbows and knees. I used to work with severely mentally disabled adults who had been raised by the state. Some of the people had never learned to walk upright, and they would walk on their hands and feet like a toddler trying to stand.

I’m guessing she was disabled and then dumped. I made an unplanned visit to an orphanage in India (upon invitation), where I met homeless disabled children who were found wandering the streets of New Delhi at a very young age. All these comments and jokes are too much for me. Call me humourless.

That’s also not how monkeys walk (on elbows). This means A) she wasn’t living with them for long, or B) she found methods to lower herself physically to seem more beta in the group., or C) she was abused so badly in her families home, that they forced her to eat and walk this way or D) bullshit story.

Uttar Pradesh (literally Northern State) has a population of around 220 million, barely a 100 million less than the entirety of the US, squeezed into an area the size of Wyoming, so you can guess why some of the weirdest stories of India come out of there. We’ve been carving pieces of it out to make new states, but

How sure is anyone that this is real?

I hope she rehabilitates as well as possible.

Dirty Dancing and The Breakfast Club are both wonderful. I’d say to skip Sixteen Candles, though - it’s very much a product of its time and it’s hard to sit through.

Apparently, he originally supposed to be just a bit older than her (~24), but they loved Swayze for the role so much that they changed Johnny’s age a bit (he was 34 when the movie was filmed). Yes, I know too much about this movie.

I’ll disagree with everyone else and say that Dirty Dancing is the first of those I’d watch, if I were you. My opinion is, of course, clouded by my own bias, though. SPOILERS AHEAD, though this movie is such a large part of the cultural consciousness (IMO) that you probably know all of them anyway.

She was supposed to be an older teen but, because I am way too into trivia about this movie, I do know that Jennifer Grey was like 27 when it was filmed. So you’re not wrong.

I believe 17 or 18. She was going to start at Mount Holy Oak in the fall (per Jerry Orbach’s line).

I’m very bothered by eating contests in general. Some of us grew up knowing what hunger was. Others still do.

...the Chief Justice is supposed to intervene when this occurs.

Because boys can do no wrong. From early childhood, girls are held to higher behavioral standards. I am at a conference right now, and we women have noticed that the men are too fucking special to push their chairs back in and not block the narrow aisles.

This effect is not limited to the male Justices: the male advocates also regularly interrupt the female Justices. This is surprising, both because the Court’s guidelines explicitly prohibit advocates from interrupting Justices, and because the Chief Justice is supposed to intervene when this occurs.

If men can pass a law about what women can do with their bodies, can women pass a law about what men can do with their mouths?
