I’m one of those Australians. The idea of being attacked by a large animal is just so much more frightening to me than being bitten by a spider or snake. Crocodiles also freak me out, but I live too far south for them to be a problem.

Why make women wear what men wear? If women’s clothes are more suited to the weather, maybe men should be dressing more like women.

They seem slow, but they can move fast when they want to. I once got a fright when one came charging past me from behind at night. Fortunately it didn’t think I was a tree :).

I don’t think it’s really that big a story here - this is the first I’ve heard of it. Just curious though, how did you think Koalas get from tree to tree?

Is that from Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary? It used to be a thing there.

Some of them seem to be bleached rather than plucked. At least that’s not permanent.

It’s probably an effective way to make sure there’s no one left internally to stop or report their abuse. If you’re not one of the abusers you get bullied into submission or out of your job.

They said she understands what people are saying to her though, so it’s possible she had already acquired some language development before ending up with the monkeys.

It seems appropriate seeing as Umbridge Betsy Devos is now education secretary. Here’s hoping she doesn’t ban muggle-borns muslim kids from schools...

Stories like this make me worry about our aging population and what impact it will have on voting behaviour.

I think the argument is that because facebook curates what content and advertisements are shown based on user profiles, they are active participants in the content that is distributed on their site and not just a neutral publisher. I’m curious to see where this goes.

I’ve seen those videos of bears playing in people’s back yards in America. How are snakes and spiders more frightening than that?!

Magpies are feared far more than snakes and spiders around here. Cyclists are a favourite target.

Pythons make good house guests because they keep mice and possums under control. My grandparents have one in their house. They have never seen it, but it occasionally leaves a snake skin behind.

Sure from a legal point of view (assuming there was a release...). But from a personal point of view, she wouldn’t have intended or expected this. I would feel violated too.

No. When she shares naked images of her body should be up to her, not someone else. Body acceptance is not an open invitation.
