I’m with you, I work in IT all day, but I still like a challenge and it’s usually pretty simple stuff. I also like educating people about making some better choices. Especially with their backups! Toss it in dropbox, a external drive, whatever.

Honestly I rarely ran into a problem. I pushed updates usually either by major version or major changes. Flash, Java, Reader, etc were low priority updates. I also used SCCM which I would highly recommend to an IT Admin.
Yep, you have to apply for distribution rights to distribute Adobe software (even the free stuff). It’s a free and relatively quick process, but you might as well do it.
Perfect timing on this article as a switch jobs on monday.
As a dog owner and someone who doesn’t want kids in his life...I will respectfully disagree with your statement. I love my dog.
As stated above in the article...Set up that two-factor authentication. Especially if Gmail is your central place for email (Password resets).

I'm lucky to have one relatively close by. At the service desk if you are an AAA member, you receive an additional card that is good at certain stores for additional discounts. Something like 10% off $100 or more at Gap, the vary per store. I used a discount to get two Brooks Brothers suits for $500.
I just hope they store the passwords in plain text so it’s secure

Love mustard...but no ketchup?
Completely agree with the volume, although sometimes I inadvertently turn it down when putting my headset on. Not a huge deal. I also had the Corsair Vengence 1200 I think it was. The sound quality just wasn't the same despite the software that they have for 5.1 sound.

Just purchased two pairs of "nicer" quality shoes on eBay that were slightly used. I'm not sure if that counts as thrifty or gross. Either way I got them for a lot cheaper than retail.
+1 I'd also suggest watching some techniques of Mike O'Hearn.
I'm going to have to try this. Great idea.
The third period was absolutely incredible for that game. Not only the revolving door of goalies, but a hard fought period by the Panthers.
I'm in the process of growing mine. I probably have a solid 3-4" of beard, and I think people are genuinely amused by it. I've always kept mine short and nicely trimmed, but decided to grow mine for a local "Winter Beard Club".
Comedy Central promptly added Chromecast support for their app. If you have a cable subscription it's even better (access to all episodes)
