Thanks for the update, Stephen. I appreciate that you keep us informed on these internal discussions. I'm sure most that were aware of the controversy assumed something was going on internally, glad to hear that it was.

Ugh. Guy needs a new sword. Watching somebody fight Artorias and only doing that much damage? Find yourself a new weapon!
Ahhhhhhhh. Ok. I was trying to think of an item or something, but that makes a lot more sense.
Sorry, but I think you need to GIT GUD.
E3, 2013.
Oh definitely. And with just little snippets, there's no sourcing or room for quotes, so there's a lot of potential for abuse. But the sad thing is, people don't like reading the news! So if it gets someone who has ignored the news for a few years to start reading it again, then I think it's exciting!
I hope the only thing movie goers get tired of is origin stories. I understand that we can't introduce a new hero without knowing something about them, but I just cannot watch something like tAmazing Spiderman again. I think Guardians of the Galaxy snuck by this since it wasn't a story about a lone hero. It's a…
I mean, if people are reading this as opposed to reading nothing, that's a positive, right? I'd be more interested if this was a standalone app with pictures and more professional typeface. I assume that's the next step.
Oh yeah, for sure. I'm in the same boat. I bought a PS4 based on hype and it's become a glorified Netflix machine. I'm glad I have it for Destiny and Bloodborne, but the drought has been real for a full year.
Ouch. Ok, yeah, I would be super excited if that happened to me. Glad you're getting access to your movies again!
Are you actually excited about 3D Blu-Ray, or are you just ticking it off the list of pre-release promises? I think it's a great option, but I don't know anybody who uses the 3D other than to just show it off once.
Fair enough. I'm just always wary of "fan" awards. The Hugos have a rich history for a reason, and I'm mainly highlighting my own gripes to make my own point!
Still a sweet outfit. Somebody should model a game character on it.
I should pay attention to the Nebulas more closely. But I think, at least in this instance, the Hugos get a lot more publicity. Perhaps because of the fan involvement in voting. I outlined my gripes more fully above.
Well, it's also more that I've paid attention this year to the awards and I've seen who votes and who cares about this. I paid because I wanted a cheaper way to get the Wheel of Time eBooks. Then I decided to pay attention and educate myself and see what other people thought.
The Hugos are basically a popularity contest. Since anybody who pays can vote, I don't really think they deserve the reverence they get from the fantasy community. I feel like there should be something more than $30 keeping me from being involved in Sci-Fi/Fantasy's biggest award.
I love the Natu/Bouffalant one. Bouffalant is so goofy looking, but he's definitely using that afro the best way that he can.
I've popped into a couple discussions already, but I just wanted to thank you, CJA, for putting some light on these books. I think a lot of io9ers would love (or possibly super hate) the series. I don't think it's gotten enough attention in the fantasy world since book one hits a little close to home. But that's…
Personally, I think the Magician's Trilogy is a beautiful series that really speaks to me on a bunch of levels. I feel like I've been Quentin before, and that's really scary. I know there's a lot of people out there who don't "get" it and hate on the books. My buddy who just read it is that way and the only…
I was kind of disappointed. Quentin gets everything that he's always wanted at the end. He isn't really punished for being an insufferable selfish ass for the first 2 books. Which is fine, but he literally got EVERYTHING he wanted.
