Hertz gambled and lost when it placed its big EV bet on Tesla a few years ago. It was a chance for the rental car company to shake up the industry, instead the company bought 30,000 Teslas, got scared away by depreciation and expensive repairs and now wants to get rid of them. While all those used Teslas looked to be

OMG... who cares.

Personally, I think the Cybertruck is largely pointless. But could Jalopnik try, just a little bit, to be balanced? Is that too much to ask?

Meh

You mean the other “absurdly complicated” part where he had to press a button to pop the trunk.. and connect the positive and negative leads again. Oh man.. how could anybody spend another 12 seconds of their life doing this absurdly complicated 2nd half of the procedure.

I feel truly remorseful for the person who has

What the hell is “absurdly complicated” about popping a 2-inch plastic cover off the bumper.. and hooking up jumper cables to a negative & positive cable? You guys need to stop with the sensationalist headlines.

Now playing

The NSX just spent too long in development and when it came out it was a bit too late. It being a hybrid was supposed to bring it economy and performance together, but compare to two other cars in its price bracket:

Exactly. It’s as if half of the editorial writers at Jalopnik wandered over from Jezebel.

This is one of the dumbest takes I’ve read on Jalopnik all year (and that’s saying a lot). The “extremely lopsided on paper” comment completely OMITS what was admitted in the very first paragraph: the Cybertruck is towing a copy of the car it’s racing!

I have no idea what is more obnoxious and nauseating these days:

Vehicle that costs the same as a Porsche beats Porsche in drag race while towing another Porsche?

I mean, it’s impressive, if nothing else. All drag races are spectacle, really.

Elon Musk is a national security risk, full stop.

So then don’t pick sides. Clearly, Musk picked a side by disabling Ukraines ability to use the platform. So much for Musks libertarianism.

Musk is a Putin boot-licker.

She didn’t say it was exclusive to the ‘male mind’, she admits she had the mentality to enter “kill mode” I think in the same sentence, but there may be something to this - we cannot escape our primitive hormonal structures, not all men are “ALPHA” (hate that term, but lets use it here), but maybe 25% are, so you have

Pretty sure any amount of spray paint done by a handful of people is trivial compared to what billionaires are doing.

Tesla owner here. 2020 model Y.

There’s a huge difference between noticing a massive, colorful work of art on a persons back - that’s being actively shown off (and rightly so), and picking out nazi symbolism in a mass of grey-scale tattoo work on the inside of a persons arm.

I wouldn’t make the jump to assume that the show’s hosts share or endorse this guy’s beliefs, but I do find it odd that in the time they spent with him, they’d not notice the tattoos and say something to the producers. Further, it strains credulity that nobody on the crew noticed literal Nazi SS tattoos during
