I seriously turn on the news before I even get out of bed. There have been more than a few days lately where I decided to just pull the covers over my head and stay where I was.

Ya know, I gotta give your kid credit. When you think about it, saying, “No thanks, I’m good” on the cars is a pretty respectable bit of complex thinking and self-control for a toddler.

Trust me, there really is a sizable percentage of public sector employees that remain in their jobs at least in part because they’re afraid of what would replace them.

With an administration as mind-numbingly incompetent as this one, it’s the lower-level career employees that are actually keeping the government…

I fully expect that someone is working on their Rex Tillerson impression even as we speak.

I had no doubt that the Tillerson story was true the minute that Tillerson denied that he had threatened to quit but refused to address the “moron question.” The only reason to refuse to answer is that you don’t want to lie to the press.

{sigh} No, the system is set up that way because it would be absolutely idiotic to demand that the DA take literally every case to trial.

Apparently the obsession with doing everything on the cheap means that they haven’t managed to hire an IT person that understands that breaking a link is slightly useless if you leave the damn documents in a publicly accessible folder on the server...

See what light? The light that says perhaps if they weren’t spending their time calling this idiotic tip line, they’d have called the police or child protective services and actually gotten something done to arrest and prosecute the alleged child molester?

Funny thing, though. When asked about specific gun control measures, voters overwhelmingly support them - as long as the term ‘gun control’ isn’t used.

There’s a deeply cynical part of me that finds it morbidly amusing to realize that if they’re going to wait until there’s no recent high profile shooting to bring this bill to the floor, then we don’t have to worry about ever seeing it again.

And god forbid you be even slightly inconvenienced in your acquisition of death toys.
