That’s the problem. There may be a group of people who are OK with Luke just missing the point of his own films. But honestly, a lot of us just aren’t. It feels like a writers cheap convenience to tell the story they want to tell. The cheapness of it is the problem (for us).

Agreed - I was super excited to see Luke, but really disappointed that he doesn’t seem to be the same Luke we know at the end of Jedi. He’s pretty cold (especially with being CGI) and seems way in on the Jedi way and casting off attachment even though he did the same exact thing as Grogu by rescuing his friends. He

it had to be pointed out to me that it WAS the very same test Luke was given, with likely the same answer. and depending on how much F and F want to shift the character, he will be satisfied with Grogu’s response.

“Luke is telling Grogu he can train as a Jedi, or be with his father figure, but not both”

“So you have two choices. You can either accept the Mandalorian’s gift, and forgo your Jedi training. Or you can accept this hand-me-down lightsaber, and be slaughtered by my bloodthirsty nephew in a couple of years.”

He was presented with a take it or leave ultimatum, AND HE FUCKING LEFT FOR HIS FAMILY.

But on the other hand, it’s not what caused the Jedi Order to fall. The Jedi died because Anakin was a selfish, egotistical, power hungry prick who caused most of his own problems. And the Jedi lasted for “1000 generations” before it fell, presumably with that rule in effect, so it’s hard to say it was a bad idea.

“You must abandon attachments and those you love... now let me tell you all about my attachment to my past master and my love for him and the memento of him that I keep....

I know Luke isn’t supposed to be perfect but, ouch, the hypocrisy of the Jedi was big on display in this one.

I can’t shake the feeling that this show is a reflection of some internal fight at Disney. These two Mandalorian episodes feel more like an emergency patch than an intentional thing. I loved them, but they definitely feel like they were intended to be the first couple episodes of Mando’s series. Why dedicate so much

I used to be all about flipping people off if they tailgated me or cut me off, etc. Now I just let things roll because in the last 30-ish years since I got my license road rage has gone from getting the bird back at you to this kind of shit. Ain’t worth it. Let the other idiot think they win - at least you can walk

The stinger made it look like Boba was coming back for revenge, but the show hasn’t gone in that direction at all, and it’s confusing.

I still don’t understand why Boba Fett would want to be a crime boss, since he not only seems woefully underprepared for the job, but he also doesn’t seem to be fond of crime (anymore?).

If you do skip the series, and I don’t blame you for wanting to, I'd still suggest watching this episode.

Have you priced a brand-name used bike?  Unless it’s 25 years old they’re nearly as much as new.  I tried to buy a used road bike a few years ago and gave up.

When you just need basic transportation, to get to a job you didn’t have last week for example, and the price difference at a bike shop is hundreds of dollars like I’ve seen locally, you’re getting a Wal-Mart bike and hoping for the best. I’d at least visually inspect it for grievous problems, like bad welds and backwa

Yeah, while I understand the cyberpunk/mod bikers as a concept of bored kids on a world where there is probably literally nothing else to do but get way too into Gibson novels and Quadrophenia, visually they just look so out of place on Tatooine. Even just some dust on the scooters would’ve gone a long way.

The Terminator vibes from that shot of the K2 and Probe droids were undeniable.

It is indeed worse than the prequels.

The problem isn’t exactly that they’re the same character. The problem is that Mando IS Boba Fett and Boba Fett ... isn’t.

This. Boba Fett never had more than cool armor and a cool job (which honestly was enough for me). Once The Mandalorian made us care about Mando despite sharing those same characteristics, my interest in Boba proper was effectively drained.
