It’s the new normal.

Rivian was founded in 2009 and first showed their concepts to the world back in 2018. That is far different than a lot of start-up EV companies that show a rendering and claim they will start production in a year.

By her logic we shouldn’t want the following vehicles either:

I loved the Challenger R/T I test drove so much, I ordered one from the factory as my first brand new car purchase. Every review bitching about how it doesn’t handle well or it’s “underpowered” is pointless, because it still is a damn fun car.

I also disagree with her on comfort/practicality. I have a 392 scat pack, and mpg aside (which is still 24+ on the highway), it’s a pretty fantastic road trip car. Her take on the seats is completely bunk. I take it on multiple road trips a year and it’s fantastic for open highway cruising. It’s smooth, big,

Ever seen the Mopar guys roll up at the local cars and coffee? They’re way more diverse (at least here on the East Coast) than your identity studies class likely was. Tons of black and Latino guys drive these cars.

If anything, and I think you hit on this at the end, the Challenger represents faded glory.

What a bunch of ignorant, boho-Marxist drivel - especially the attempt to connect a car to white supremacist groups. Ever seen the Mopar guys roll up at the local cars and coffee? They’re way more diverse (at least here on the East Coast) than your identity studies class likely was. Tons of black and Latino guys drive

This car is preoccupied with its own past in a way that will prevent it from ever being a road tripper, or a tourer, or a sports car, because its entire design ethos is simply unvarnished nostalgia for the ‘70s,

It’s always interesting to me how some technological “improvements” are really just shifting some of the work to the customer.

Cars are not imbued with an inherent sense of morality

in addition, not rushing to market with a product with massive issues. All the respect for them putting these vehicles through years of product shakedowns and real world testing so not to deliver a substandard product to market.

Nah, everyone here is jazzed about the Maverick and Santa Cruz with tiny beds too.

I’ll be sitting here refreshing the screen, waiting for people to complain about the four foot bed on the Rivian pickup truck.

Oh also dude, congrats to Rivian. I never thought it would actually happen but they are producing their pickup and by all accounts it is fantastic. This is a huge win for Rivian, Ford, Amazon,

It's almost as if there's a lot about Tesla and Musk that is worth hating

Side note, you cant be seriously saying that the co-founder of PayPal, SpaceX, and Tesla has no real skills, right? Not to mention his degrees in physics and economics.”

*TECHNICALLY* Elon is legally allowed to call himself a co-founder as a result of the Eberhard lawsuit, however he invested his PayPal money after the Company had already been “found” almost 8 months prior.  He saw a good idea and invested in it early on.  That is not what I would consider a co-founder as he was not

Some of us want a car that wasn’t built in a shed.

I have owned 6 Miata’s (currently own 2) and an S2000.

Why? That looks a high schoolers rendering after a few weeks using blender
