This is generally how my family travels, but there are a lot of things outside of that radius I would like to see. We are in Michigan, which has plenty of beautiful sites in its own right, but I would love to take trips to some of the great national parks out west. We haven’t yet because the drive isn’t practical.

He does a lot of things that defy those credentials though.

For real, people don’t have much time for vacations as is, and trains are expensive and slow. If someone has the luxury of multiple long vacations, sure go nuts on trains. For everyone else, it’s kind of a shitty deal. Might as well just tell people to not travel at all.

I like that you keep doubling down on your dangerous driving habits. Not only are you making it more dangerous to drive for the person you’re antagonizing (and yourself), you’re inhibiting the normal flow of traffic by speed matching.

Driving is safe when we are doing predictable things. When you are acting outside of that covenant you are actively making life more difficult and dangerous for the rest of us.

Regarding the train: It’s also more expensive than flying in many cases. I like the idea of traveling by train with a sleeper car. I looked at a route I was considering taking and was blown away by the difference. Flying my family of would cost $1,200 and would take 4 hours. A train would take a day and a half, and…

This can be done in Orlando. It won’t be in a premier area or neighborhood, but there are still houses in this price range. The issue is massive supply has out-paced predicted demand.
