So I just realised this... and it's because I'm an Alexandra and I shorten my name.

I showed this to my students when I was teaching Intro to Women's Studies last Spring and it really resonated with them. Resonated so much with them that the floodgates opened and well, professorial privilege, but she had an extraordinary impact on both myself and my students.

@amowls: Oh yes, I mean, I'm a grad student at one of VA's public universities and I love it there, love my students, too, so I def appreciate that.

@pantsless: bwahahaha! I forget about Texas... deliberately...saves me about an hour of eating my feelings per teaching day.

Yes, Virginia, you fail.

This is my worst nightmare... either for myself or on my newsfeed.

The Queen looks the best out of the whole lot of them. I'd wear that outfit.

Yes, let's fetishize yet another female politician but ONLY if she's pretty, otherwise it's not worth the effort.

@Gay Bash: No, I already know I'm a Queen, so I've been spared the "Queen Dream."

I might be more sick of this wedding than I am of the ones I read about being planned-out daily on my Facebook news feed. I mean, I keep telling myself that I don't want to be a Princess, that I want to be a PhD, but I still can't shake the feeling that between the news feed and this wedding, that I'm on a secret

I love her sweater.

Yes, always put that big gold championship phallus they're always striving to win ahead of what real masculinity is and that's respecting women, not treating them like trophies or impediments to winning them.

How did this article manage to completely avoid mentioning Catholicism in the ways in which abortion debates are framed and laws are upheld in Ireland? This whole topic is pretty loaded and without making essentialist statements about the Irish and/or Irish Catholicism, there needs to be some acknowledgment of the

I'd stay at uni if I had siblings. The holidays started to suck when I was too old for dolls and they just keep getting worse. I don't want a stocking. This almost-30-only child with a widowed mother wants to not have more than three fights with said mother over the 2 weeks that she's home. Can that fit into a

Okay the "Why We Get Fat" tag across the top left corner of the Jan 2011 issue compounded with this image of her in a "ballet pink" dress to promote "Black Swan" is really unfortunate.

@BlondesHaveMoreFun: Love this! That's always the perfect formula. And thank you! :)
