I personally like Sins of a Solar Empire and Fable: The Lost Chapters. I like Sins due to it's harsh sounding (and reading) feel and the grandiose feelings it inspires in me. I like Fable, due to the fairy tale like title. It seems like it would be so much more of a story being ripped off a page that you want to

Having played both, and done most of the romancing (yeah…I had a boring life before I met my wife and decided to work harder studying Physics). Jennifer Hale is REALLY good! I think she is such a great voice actor that it blows everything else out of the water. I highly recommend Her as your Protagonist for a First

Probably BOTH! They work well together, and from the others I know who play it they play a game in CKII then import to EU4.

My advice is somewhat odd. If you get bored of Mass Effect Move ON! There is a DLC for the story of Mass Effect 1 and it allows you to see the basic story, make the crucial decisions, and get the gist of everything in about 15 minutes. I tried playing Mass Effect 1 recently, and just couldn't do it…I was bogged

This weekend, I will mostly be doing Statistical Mechanics!, which is mostly a numbers game, with a lot of frustrating parts. During the boring parts, I hope to either play: Democracy 3 based on the great recommendation by @HobbesMkii:disqus or play Pokemon Y since I really should finish it.

That sounds great. I have been looking at this game for a while. Thanks for the heads up!

I am usually the same way. I can make horrible moral decisions (see Rachni, et.al.) ,but when it comes to me being rude or just mean…I can't do it!

I am determined to play a video game this weekend! I will try either Zelda: Legend of 4 Swords that I picked up for FREE at the eShop for some odd reason, or Banner Saga that is still waiting me to play it since I pre-ordered it a month ago. Damn, if a baby and Grad School doesn't eat up all gaming time…

Mine would be drink every time you get a new side quest in Kingdoms of Amalur. I think you wouldn't be able to play for long, but you would be very, very entertained at how long you still be able to play the game and still be good at it, and try and complete as many of the numerous side quests the game gives you.

I hate when games decide to have you protect an area or person. I like to explore, run around, get killed on a regular basis as Cubert decided to scream or demand to see what I'm doing. Thus protecting some pixels seems annoying and furthermore distracting.

Good luck moving!

The Stanley Parable is the example I was thinking about during the "spontaneity" parts of this article. I really think that Stanley was really able to execute great story and funny dialogue while still allowing for choice. It is a good example. Thank you for bringing it up.

I think this is an incredibly well written response. Great job!

I think what I remember from Futurama commentary. (What I still listen to those after all these years? Yes! If I, a 179 yr. old man don't listen to them who will?)MOST of the actors get together and do an initial reading of the script together, then they do their voice recordings individually or as a small group.

This is one concise and very well written retort. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Due to the smaller budget this game does have flaws, but it does a good job. I like the fact that the map is so pretty, but you can't go exploring. It makes for a more "desperate" narrative.

One game, Shadowrun Returns also does not have user generated saves. Not to compare the two, but this may be due to the lack of the games ability to use these saves. Also, @CrabNaga:disqus does have a good point.

It seems a lot like a puzzle game that involves D&D, as well as some really fun random quirks that make beating a dungeon more fun. Most dungeons are usually beaten (or lost) in about 15-30 minutes, and the game really makes learning pretty easy/fun.

I don't really recommend games very well, and I usually suck at describing why I think it would be good anyway.

I bought ToME and am very excited to really sink my teeth into it during the next few months. I probably won't get much time for it, but will try hour jaunts during my breaks.

I am also playing Desktop Dungeons and enjoying it as well. I am about as far as @doyourealize:disqus and love every quirky little bit of it.
