I find it really disingenous how people are saying this one’s not a real Final Fantasy because it’s an action/RPG hybrid, as if one of the most acclaimed games in the series isn’t an isometric tactics game, and two of the numbered entries aren’t MMOs. Final Fantasy isn’t defined by picking your party’s attack commands

The comparisons to DMC are super overblown. The resemblance is superficial at best.

Ya know, I think it would do pretty well actually.

Least favorite: Phoenix Dash (O) and dodge (R1) should be swapped or at least let us map custom controls. None of the preset control schemes fix this for me. I can’t even say how many times I went to dodge and instead dashed straight into an attack.

Custom controls should be mandatory. Ended up using type c because hitting magic with triangle was not doing it for me.

Out of curiosity have you played FF14 at all? While obviously trying to emulate GoT it felt a LOT like 14 to me in so far as the character designs and their dialogue. (Other then the large amount of swearing since T rating for 14 and all) Which makes sense since a large number of the 14 team worked on 16.

Yeah I totally would have expected that they add a coop mode for people who want it. Didnt Lost Planet had one back in the day? Then again after sooooo much time any new Dragons Dogma is basically good news lol

I loved all of the original voice cast- especially with cute asides like the fact Yuri Lowenthal (M Protag) and Tara Platt (Mitsuru/ Elizabeth) have been married for 20 something years. Or that the OG voice cast has done all supplemental appearances in promo materials, rhythm games, etc.

How far up the console war shincter are you that you can’t remember Psychonauts 2, Ori and the Wisps, Battle Toads, Gears Tactics, Sea of Thieves and Flight Simulator? Or how about more recently HiFi Rush, Grounded, Minecraft Legends, and Pentiment.

Grounded, Minecraft Legends, Pentiment for the more recent. With Flight Simulator, Sea of Thieves, Gears Tactics, Battle Toads, Ori and the Wisps, Psychonauts 2, being a little older. Possibly Everwild coming up. I would even throw HiFi Rush in there, but I could understand argument against it.  While I don’t think

It’s Sony’s own graph. I assume each 100% is the “PS5 Investment by Model”, which starts off low in 2019 while they are still crossgen with PS4 investment, and then grows in 2025 based on their wanting to sell off a business unit to increase funds for potential acquisitions (which was a separate news story earlier in

This isn’t a Sony-specific problem, as pretty much every big brand in entertainment has become increasingly more terrified of perceived failures

It’s just one reason why my ps5 is a box for exclusives

That trailer was awful.

A shit version of an already good game? Why?

I didn’t like something about the controls in the first one. (I can’t remember what it was. It’s been so long.) But a shift to 3rd-person shooter has my attention if it has cool mechanics. That’s been my favorite trailer I’ve watched so far.

Yep. Made me laugh. Out loud. Take my star!

FFXIII was a breath of fresh air after the borefest that was FFXII, with its wanky pretentious names, wanky pretentious accents, unmemorable music, and a cast consisting of Balthier and a whole lot of nobodies. I shouldn’t be able to beat a boss battle that I fell asleep during (also, what does it say about a game

He sounds like he has some sort of mental illness, to be honest. It shouldn’t upset a person as much as it does him that someone might like something he doesn’t. I hope he can get the help he obviously needs.

No mech game will ever hold a candle to the experience that was Steel Battalion, the first one on the original Xbox with the massive controller, not the shit Kinect sequel. If Capcom put out a remake of SB with the same badass controller, even with inflation, I’d easily be in, that was one of my all-time favorite
