The problem isn’t the system. Its these two factors:

I hadn’t really thought of it until now, but seriously, how did they get away having a screen like this? and “autopilot!” in a day and age when people can’t keep their hands off the smart phones, and are crashing all over the place.

What could be the problem, right?

Shhh...Hear that sound? It’s legions of actuaries fast at work revising risk premiums for Teslas.

Let’s think this through.

My god, same here. For something that poses such obvious risks to the occupants as well as other drivers, I can’t believe it didn’t get more scrutiny or go through some kind of government testing.

It’s all probably on Elon’s home brew—not a problem.

Lewis Hamilton after the incident in Suzuka, 2015:

Fair. BTW: FP2 is on. Enjoy.

I buy it, actually. Merc has been having troubles quite frequently. I just think Nico misjudged. He’s tends to not be the Dick people make him out to be. I find him to be candid and gentlemanly.

Fair point. Except for “rammed.” Strictly speaking, Lewis turned into Nico.

Nico had cooked brakes, and under estimated how deep he was going. But the move was legit. It’s quite a classic move to run deep and force the driver on the outside to slow. That is why this should have been deemed a Racing Incident....you can see Nico turning in just before the point of impact, and Lewis having 1.5

Nico (or any driver) is not in any way obliged to follow the racing line.

Lewis Hamilton, post race, Suzuka 2105 on running Nico off the track:

“Mind explaining how this was not enough room?”

Ham and Ros were side by side in the baking zone. If Lewis was ahead, it was by inches, and you need to be ahead by feet if you’re going to overtake around the outside.

Now playing

He threw the hat because he had a rough race that began with Lewis running him off the track.

I see 1.5 car widths to Lewis’ left, and I see Nico’s hands at 12:00.

Newey’s inspiration?
