Or even Fiesta ST, a downpipe, intercooler, a tune, and beer money?

Over a WRX?

Isn’t 25k base WRX territory?

Heck, would anyone buy this over a manual Mazda3 with the 2.5? Similar price, more power, better fuel economy, and a way nicer interior.

I’m all for small fun cars with more power, but for $25k? Would anyone buy this over a Focus ST?

LOL! Does Canadian County, Oklahoma, actually use KM/h? The calculation here definitely makes more sense.

Because it’s Canadian County:

Was probably a V6 with an exhaust.

To be really fair, if we all drove Miatas we can actually afford to race and spent our mere mortal budgets on track time, we’d be ungodly good.

I say that having personally owned an Italian motorcycle, Italian car and Italian espresso machine.

Unfortunately, selling heart to buy a kart is also frowned upon.

For a bit of perspective on the whole thing read “Flat Out, Flat Broke: Formula 1 the Hard Way” by Damon Hill. It’s an interesting look at how much money and perseverance it takes to get into racing. Talent helps, but money talks a lot louder.

Without the money, even if you have heart, you’re still most likely nothing.

Me me me and I wanted to be. At 13 I could drink a stick. Unfortunately that stick was in a beat up Datsun my grandfather had. Missed it by millions.

Exactly this. All the money in the world cannot buy determination and persistence towards a goal. You can’t buy heart.

Pretty much this. People who are born into money have everything so much easier. When I was 13 I was competing on cross country bicycles and soap box stuff because I couldn’t afford karting like I wanted to do.

Yep, pretty much. I bet there are hundreds of talented races that never happened because, um... uhm... they don’t have $1mil a year to maintain a race team.

To be fair, we’d all be that good if we were ungodly rich.
