This is perfect. 1.5 turbo, which should have been obvious... Anyone expecting the type-r 2.0 was expecting a lot. It would also bump the price up into wrx territory.

People would gladly sacrifice that for something more reliable. Not saying everyone would. I would.

I’m all for the base model wrx, but the interiors on them are atrocities. But still, I don’t see how this will possibly compete against the wrx in terms of everything else.

Two words: opportunity cost.

We’d be good at racing miatas and nothing more. It’s like getting a degree in physics @ a no name University vs an ivy league - you have the general knowledge and theory down at one, but the other will give you the opportunity to apply all of that science thanks to a virtually unlimited budget.
