Yeah, I probably need to duck out of this because I clearly don’t know enough. But yes, it seems like a really fine line to tread. As a human being, on planet earth, I hope he continues to dissuade Drumpf from uncalled for military actions.

Actually, his job is to help maintain American safety and security, not brown nose the President.

He personally isn’t a civilian. His job (national security adviser) is a civilian role.

McMaster’s problem is that his loyalty is to country, and not to Trump.

Yeah, military people should just blindly follow orders. When has that ever gone wrong?

I really hope you are a troll...

To be fair, he also took an oath to up hold the Constitution against all enemies, foriegn and domestic. At the moment Trump is looking like a ‘bigly’ domestic enemy.

I have massive respect for the man, doing what he knows is right rather than trying to keep his job.

Maybe McMaster cares more about the U.S.A. and our future as a nation than he does in being a bootlicking toady. If your boss won’t hear it in private, then you gotta go above his head, and in this case that means going public.

If the president announces that he wants to send the navy to Bohemia, and the general points out that Bohemia lacks a seacoast, that’s not undermining. It’s telling it like it is — which Trump is supposed to be in favor of, remember?

I’d rather him do the right thing than follow a chain of command that leads to Trump.

Given that the US is a democratic state, and McMaster is working as part of it’s government, it is his duty to provide opinions even if they undermine the POTUS.

Isn’t that the whole point of democracy, if your boss is acting like a tool?

“If your going to critique, at least be accurate.”

But it can buy a couple of escorts to piss all over your bed.

Except that he couldn’t be more wrong. Trump is the most insecure, needy little brat in the whole world. He desperately wants people to love and adore him, and prove to everyone that he’s the best and the brightest and most desirable and most enviable person that ever existed

Money can’t buy you class.

It does pay...in spades. Everyone should strive for excellence, that’s not a “white” value it’s a human value. Speaking properly without give-away intonations, expressions and speech patterns which allow people to automatically discriminate against you before they even see you is important. It will certainly get you
