Considering we used to start my friend’s SN95 with a screwdriver (because the key broke), I find this totally legit.

I just sold a 2001 E39 525i and literally every power option still worked just fine. That car was almost scary-reliable.
I imagine it went something like this...
My 128i has been bulletproof so far.
I paid less than that for my 2011 6MT and it’s nearly mint with 71k on it (when I bought it). Crack. Pipe.
And how many Audi TTs run in it?
The Audi TT does not have Twin Turbos, never has. Therefore, its entire existence has been a lie. Let it die, it never lived.
Sadly, we had zero TV or streaming coverage of the awesome TransAm season opener down at Sebring. Shame too, great racing all around!
We had the block on our 1954 Massey-Furgeson tractor crack like that. We dremeled the crack into a shallow V and injected it with two-part JB Weld epoxy, then clamped the whole thing together for 24 hours. While it was apart, for a hilariously low-cost, we rebuilt the head with new valves, springs, and pushrods.…
My 2001 BMW 525i had that feature for keeping the car warm in the winter.
I just change it every oil change, since my oil changes are 12-15k miles anyway. (full synthetic, Blackstone analysis, etc) Preventative maintenance is key to long life.
Thanks for the detailed technical info, but I’ll continue parking in the garage where it stays warm, down here in Florida where it also stays warm.
I had my beloved POS track beater Miata for a long time, sold it to a guy who swore he was going to track day it. Apparently it developed an oil leak shortly after he bought it (it never leaked in 8 years I had it) and he parked it for 2 years. It didn’t run when he sold it to a guy I bumped into here on Jalopnik a…
If savings are zilch and debt is high, learn to DIY and replace the cooling system. It’s very easy and not nearly as expensive as replacing the car.
Come down for the Classic 24 in November. It’s 1/100th the insane crowd but just the same amount of epic night racing.
If it’s anything short of stop-motion animation, it’s garbage from the word go.
Horray for not having to stream it through Justin, Twitch, or RussianmalwarebutdealwithitbecauseyoucanstreamBathurst.ru !!!
I’m simply repeating what the drivers were saying. That infield section gets a LOT of standing water on it, to the point where even a passenger car would hydroplane pretty easily. The statement makes perfect sense.
The driver of the Safety Car was complaining that it wasn’t safe to drive at walking speeds in a street car. Safety is way more important.
I was there in the bleacher closest to it as well. Very sad, I’m always rooting for those guys.
