It’s scary to me too. I see Joe Biden’s faults, and I don’t know that it helps to simply not talk about them. The Democratic party really does have to start supporting candidates - not just at the presidential level, but in House, Senate and State elections - who are not just better than the worst.

One thing that is common on “both sides” in the US, and even with the apolitical is logic. Biden is at best center right, but as a progressive he’s the logical choice. Not because he’s ever been some ideal advocate for equality, but because the alternative is someone who literally doesn’t care about advocating for

Huh. You’re argument kinda falls apart because....she didn’t fucking win. She’s not our president that bigoted orange shit stain is and you know what? It’s these non-stop daily essays about how terrible Biden is that will get us in the exact same goddamn spot. Where are the follow up reports on Tara Reid being a lying

I will often sit through an iffy show if the acting is good. I watched the awful middle years of Homeland for fuck’s sake. I couldn’t get through Run, and I’m one of like four people in the world who’d put Domhnall in my top 3.

Biden did not appear anywhere on my list of people I would like to have seen as the Democratic nominee. Let me state first, that I will be voting for him, no matter who his VP pick is, no matter how many more gaffes he makes.

“Listen to them—the children of the night. What music they make!”

Exactly.

I agree, I think the writers here really want Trump to win, so they get another 4 years of “TOLD YA!! should’ve voted for Bernie!!” Like Bernie would have made everything magically better the second he was inaugurated.

I would bet money there are more that a few bloggers here that would prefer a second term of Trump over a non-Bernie Democrat.

I’m black and I don’t necessarily agree with him but he has my vote. The alternative is an unrepentant racist.

YUPPP.

What’s it gonna take? The second wave. The second wave is inevitably worse, and psychologically more dispiriting because they thought they were safe and their belief in their own invincibility is destroyed.

Oh crap, no seatbelts was nuthin’. When I was a kid, I remember going out to “the farm” (no idea whose farm or even if it was a farm or if I made up that part; I was a tag-along with my friend Audrey) in the back of Audrey’s stepfather’s truck. As in, he put a mattress in the back of his pickup and we rode back

I went to NorthPark mall(Dallas) to do some returns and I think they’ve definitely done a lot to make it safer for people to shop, but GOD DAMN IT, PEOPLE- they’ve got two main entrances open and an appropriate face-covering is required to enter, but these fucking idiots just refuse to keep that shit on. I walked in

The Current Resident has a wide series of racist policies that, over the past four years, have directly led to the unnecessary deaths of non-white people.

I can tell you, he probably does.

This is fascism. He’s saying the weak deserved to die. He’s saying the elderly and sick and vulnerable are acceptable losses, because they needed protection.

He’s exactly saying that. Because that is fascism. The weak and vulnerable don’t deserve help or protection under fascism. Only the strong should survive in the mind of a fascist. We are in the midst of a fascist takeover of the US, and most of the world.

Always extra stars for vintage Bugs quotes.

Harris is the best pick, and if she vacates her Senate seat, Gov Gavin Newsom can appoint Adam Schiff or Katie Porter to that Senate seat, either of whom would be fantastic - and will mortify the Senate Republicans.
