I’ve been a hardcore Bowie fan since I was in grade school, and if I was forced at gunpoint to pick a favorite, this would be mine as well. His vocals on this track are just stunning. Nite Flights is also up there for me, which I guess is weird since Black Tie White Noise probably wouldn’t crack my top five.

I’m with you-it’s such a gorgeous song on so many levels. I’ve never understood why it doesn’t get more attention, even among some hardcore Bowie fans.

You see, this is why I hate math.

Ohioan here. I was in high school in the early 90s, and our algebra teacher used to throw his keys when he got pissed (which was often, he was a known drunk with a short fuse). He nearly hit a kid in the head twice. Between him and a few other teachers I had that truly seemed to hate teenagers, I’m sure one of them

I got the post-exposure series about 5 years ago, after a bat hit me in the face while I was cleaning out an attic (it was in a box I was moving and flew into my face in an attempt to get away). I was advised by my local Health Department to get the shots even though I didn’t have a confirmed bite, as rabies has been

A girl after my own heart! I love me some John Turturro. And dude has RANGE. Watch “Brain Donors” if you’re a fan of slapstick comedy, he’s hilarious in that movie.

There are many moments in the movie Room that make me cry, but the absolute worst is when Jack encounters a dog for the fist time in his life. Jesus, I can’t hold back tears just thinking about it.

“Hurdy Gurdy Man” was never the same for me after I saw Zodiac... creepy as hell.

That scene with Satan and the figurines he brought to life always fucked with me.

Exactly. Fuck ‘em. If you don’t believe in medicine, you shouldn’t be working in medicine.

Now playing

I always loved this scene too. Chalky was the best character on the show.

“Well, I ain’t buildin’ no bookcase.” So much fucking talent, and Chalky White was the coolest.

I have a co-worker who just recently got fully vaccinated (she got her first shot, then delayed getting the second shot for 5 months). Her reasoning was that “well I keep hearing the that second shot is worse, and if you have the kinds of conditions I have it will make you sicker.” I didn’t get into it with her when

Also remember that if the death involves a hospice-type situation, where you know the death is coming, the stages of grief might come before the death actually happens. My dad died of lung cancer about 6 years ago, and we knew his death was inevitable about a month before it happened. I went through many of these

My husband stepped on an urchin in Hawaii-from the look on his face, at first I seriously thought he’d been bitten by a shark. His foot had those black specs in it for quite a while.

A shard of plastic from a jar of pomade. I was screwing the lid closed, and there must have been a jagged edge on the grooved inside part of the “neck” of the jar. The shard went right into the side of the top of my middle finger, hurt like fucking hell to remove.

JESUS H. CHRIST.

Samsies, right down to it being a McDonald’s drink! I was lucky though, by some miracle I felt something fuzzy on my tongue and pulled the bee out (buzzing, so still alive) without getting stung. I’ve refused to leave my drink outside uncovered ever since.

I agree. I know I’m eager to hear the results of these studies regarding the J&J booster, not to mention whether or not it’s a good idea for us to “mix and match.” I feel like whenever I see any news on the vaccines, I’m constantly asking “WHAT ABOUT US J&J FOLKS?!”

I received the J&J and I don’t feel any less protected; studies all show the J&J being highly effective against Covid, including Delta. However I agree with you from a perspective of being left out-vaccine news often seems to overlook all of us who received the J&J vaccine, and it’s disconcerting.
