That’s because Thomas Newman is a genius. His scores are always full of so much emotion.

Thomas Newman is my favorite composer, and “Define Dancing” is among his best work in my opinion.

Agree 100%. I remember whenever the live version of “Even Flow” would be played on the radio, that “WAAH!” at the beginning was like an instant adrenaline jolt. It still brings me back to my grungy teenage years whenever I hear it.

Wholeheartedly agree on both counts. And if Gritty ever shows up at a BLM protest, my heart will fill with joy.

And this is one of the many reasons why this white person doesn’t trust the police. They stand together no matter what, and will always defend their own, no matter how vile the actions they commit.

I was a lowly admin at the time who merely took the meeting minutes, but was lucky enough to work for a boss who knew exactly what those yuppies meant when they used that phrase. He regularly called them out on their bullshit.

Having worked for a local Planning Commission, I can confirm that this is 100% accurate. You won’t believe how many times I heard the phrase “those people” at public meetings.

You are so, so fucking right. I know a lot of people who fit that description to a T. They’re the same people who pride themselves on being so woke that they “just can’t bring themselves” to vote for Biden.

The way she deliberately changed her tone on the phone to make it sound like she was terrified makes me want to punch her in the face.

Unfortunately yes-we’re both Ohioans. I suspect she belongs to a particular tribe of white women who talks the liberal talk and pretends to keep up on the issues for appearances sake, but really doesn’t give a shit. I know she only tends to vote during presidential elections, and didn’t bother to vote in the primary,

... And that’s kinda what scares me. I had a long conversation with a liberal millenial who was having a crisis of conscience about voting for Biden, and I brought up all the points you made (think about the Supreme Court, federal judicial appointments, the Justice Dept., etc.). Her answer kept being “Yeah, but...” I

I agree. Biden needs to really refine his message and focus on what he’ll do for people, not to mention the consequences of four more years of Trump. But I’ve spoken with a lot of liberal millennials where I live who seem to take articles like this to heart, and are considering not voting at all because “their

I believe you’re right-those people who ARE going to vote who lean Democratic are going to vote for Biden. But snarky articles from sites like Jezebel that that treat Biden like the enemy because he isn’t woke enough just might convince some liberals to stay home, because it makes them feel superior to have “listened

I’m under no illusions that I could “force” anyone to engage in anything. I fully expect Trump to win another term, especially considering how many liberal millennials I’ve spoken to lately who keep finding petty excuses not to vote for Biden, even though they claim to despise Trump and everything he stands for.

Of course not (though I wouldn’t call sites like this “the media”). But the petty attitude among the current Jezebel staff seems to be “we’re going to keep tearing down Biden because we didn’t get what we want.” A lot of people seem to be losing site of the endgame here-Trump needs to be voted out. Period.

I’m not saying Biden is perfect. He wasn’t my Democratic nominee of choice either. But he’s what we’ve got, and I’m not going to waste time picking him apart for shit like this considering the current state of affairs. There’s simply too much at stake.

A bunch of us kids used to pile into the back of my dad’s friend’s Bronco whenever he drove us anywhere-we’d be sliding around all over the bed of that thing and thought it was great fun.

You’re absolutely right. I honestly can’t comprehend the point of continuing to tear Biden down for every one of his minor fuck ups that mean NOTHING in the long run. The alternative is so unthinkable that like you said-it’s not worth the criticism.

As Bret’s Eyepatch, naturally I’m on board with this.

Honestly, when I watch it I can’t decide if Keanu’s performance is terrible, or perfect for the campy vibe of the movie.
