But.. um.. driving it is enjoying it. There is no enjoyment in it sitting in a garage doing nothing.

The coding that enables those features is human work too, but I get where you’re coming from, it’s already in the car, you’re just paying to turn it on.

I think the high price of custom work and very low production options says more about how highly optimized and low cost the mass production process is. The fact you can buy a “regular” Porsche 911 for two year’s wages for an average person is pretty incredible given the technology and performance. Just one life-time

The free Leaf kind of makes sense once you commit to a 10-year car note with a monthly payment so high you can’t afford the $3+/gallon gas for the Titan. You’re gonna need to just drive the Leaf a couple of years as your sole transportation to the store to buy off-brand cereal that comes in a bag.

You had me at “A:”

Plus I’d wager that the companies (Ford/Chevy/Dodge) put some of their best engineers and most engineers on their trucks because they are so important to their company. So the sheer fact that the companies try to innovate to stay competitive is expensive.

That’s not a ford, it’s a bmw

1st: I have loved just about everything about F150 Lighting since it got revealed. I love that it looks like a normal truck. I love that there is real innovation like with the generator feature that makes the vehicle seem futuristic without being gimmicky. I love that the base model costs about 4k more than a base

2nd Gear: I’m a bit disappointed there’s not some joke in there about Jaguar/Land Rover not suffering from a chip shortage because there will never be a shortage of Lucas parts or they long ago cornered the market on vacuum tubes or something... I didn’t say it was a good joke.

I’ve always been curious why Top Gear UK reported MPG when they don’t use miles...

How exactly is that cruiser justified in ramming an already-disabled vehicle? How’s that not using an automobile as a deadly weapon?

Speaking of the LEDs, the black rectangular “face” of this Manta is actually one big screen.

The site’s got issues.

Needs smaller rims, smaller tires, and actual sidewalls.  Suspension travel should be a thing. Also sidewalls can be stiff and responsive while also providing good ride quality.

I’ll raise you the other Ford Maverick:

Same reaction. Lots of money spent on radios and goofy engine mods, but broken windshield and taillight with no pics of either. Bald tires. Super strategic interior pics. This thing is not quite as nice as you would think from the pics, guarantee it.

Too much small niggling shit with this one to pass the sniff test. Whilst it is a very rare combo with the stick, it gives off the vibe of a European taxi and will not drive sportily even with the stick. I’m not sure how poorly you have to treat the vinyl to make it craze and crack that center armrest, but the stuff

Who sells a car for $8,500 that has a broken window? That alone makes eye brows raised. Add on the intake and cat back exhaust and they’re mid-forehead level. No thanks.

Damnit, you’re right.

BONNEVILLE! ........ did i do it right?
