So, maybe we’re approaching the Sovereign Citizen issue all wrong.

If the issue is that they want all of the privileges of US citizenship without any of the burden, perhaps we need to remove their rights as a US citizen.

International waters are fair game for the sovereign minded.

To be fair, in some states, you can simply write FARM USE on a vehicle and not worry about inspections, insurance, registration or other modern rules of motoring.

Perhaps these folks need to look into this as a better solution?

Solid NP.

Most comprehensive coverage is pretty broad, I don’t think you need a speciality policy to protect against a peril such as this.

The manufacturer could take this on as a matter of goodwill, but apparently they’re not.

I am sure that every OEM is dealing with many of these similar fringe situations that seem rather unfair to consumers, but are outside of the legal obligations of the company to resolve.

This does seem like it would be an

Other similar Hondas are not turning into goo. This is a matter of circumstance, and a rare, and seemingly extreme situation.

The circumstances do suggest that this isn’t a product problem. Would this be covered under the vehicle’s comprehensive coverage?

How much range of highway driving can you expect to get in 15 minutes?

I get it.

Long trips for me are typically 500 to 1000 miles, though a cross-country trip is not that uncommon.

In reality this is still not practical. Rarely do our stops need 30 minutes.

The best scenario is a Tesla on a Supercharger, right? What kind of range can be gained in 30 minutes? 150 miles? So, extend that

As good as you make this sound, the logic is off.

100% this. Long family trips are impractical in an EV.

Or, as an interim solution, a setup like the Volt had, where the car was an EV, bolstered by a generator to provide juice when the electrons are depleted.

Once batteries can match the energy density and charging time of a 15 gallon gas tank in a car that gets 35

I mean, you can’t take it with you. Might as well enjoy it a bit.

Call me a fanboi but I have not found CarPlay to be buggy or distracting.

My most recent new car purchase might have had a different outcome if I had to suffer through another OEM infotainment system that wasn’t CarPlay.

Could it be said that CarPlay isn’t perfect? Sure, that’s probably safe to say.

It has been a

I wasn’t challenging your comment, but adding some factual evidence that some CEOs believed that the circumstances of the pandemic were ushering in a new way of doing business.

In GM’s case, it made no sense to me that they wouldn’t return to their old ways of running factories at capacity, even if demand softens.

I

Except, I don’t think misstatements are necessarily lies.

If it were a lie, investors and the board would take action.

For the record, I like Barra. I think she’s a great leader. I actually don’t question her integrity, but I do question her factual basis for those statements at that time. In fact, her comments have stuck with me like chewing gum on a shoe sole. It felt wrong then, and I knew that perspective was temporary.

This has been tried? Right? I think Local Motors was making an attempt to 3D print cars in smaller facilities in multiple locations?

With you on this too. It hasn’t gotten better with other manufacturers.

A Fox Body Mustang can comfortably seat 4 people far better than a new one.

There is a 1994 Accord wagon on BaT right now at $10k with 2 days to go. However, that accord has 10x the miles on the odo.
