I can respect anyone’s car choices, preferences and styles.
Hyundai and Genesis can afford any chief designer, and design team they want. But I think some of their designs look so incoherent that I have to imagine that is their strategy.

If I were the CEO of Ford, I’d find every possible way to have some fun with Lincoln. They’re just not interesting. For as long as I can remember, they haven’t been very interesting, but every 15-20 years they do have a car with potential that just doesn’t go far enough.
Again, style is subjective, so I can’t argue your preferences. I don’t agree with all of your perspective, but there are some areas where I see things similarly.
If I called the Genesis ugly, that’s not what I meant to say. I would say that the design looks like it was crowdsourced from focus group feedback. However,…
61x more likely, or that they’re a similar x factor more common?
Okay, so you answered the question yourself. Toyota, Honda, Ford, Chevrolet, etc., are the competitive brands.
Let us all hope that you’re right. I want to live in a world where the last thought any human has is to shoot a firearm at another human.
I would guess that well-funded 2nd Amendment supporters are lined up to give this guy every fighting chance of walking away from this.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy walks away…
Design is subjective, so I’m not going to debate your tastes or impressions, but I think it is a stretch to say that their designs are good, or nice, or comparatively better than other vehicles in the same price range.
I will say that the Telluride and a few other Kias aren’t the worst looking things on the road, but…
1: Disagree - Porsche - (Not an owner) I would say that their place on the automotive spectrum isn’t hype at all.
2: Agree - Subaru - (Not an owner) They’re just not that good. They’re also just not the worst. They’re kind of like light ice cream, a big fat compromise.
Is this all real or just a fancy PR stunt for a limited edition Liquid Death?
So, that makes the Charger a mid-sized sedan as well.
But by Honda’s own standards, and the standards of the industry it is classified as a mid-sized sedan.
The Accord is a large sedan? Mid-sized, right?
Those Lincolns are still quite attractive, and led the pack back in their day. It could have been a good direction for the brand had they committed to the architecture, and a change in design philosophy.
We had both a new Mercedes-Benz and a Granada at the same time. As a young kid I loved both cars in different ways. Even at a young age the qualitative differences were clear. I never once thought that the Granada was just a less expensive version of the Mercedes. I knew they were different classes of vehicles. One of…
Two big thoughts:
1) I absolutely love these old car ads. I’m truly amazed at how low the bar was back then for marketers, agencies, and copywriters. This one is among my favorite comparison ads. I remember one from years later where the Lincoln Mark VII was compared to a Mercedes 560 SEC.
2) I have a special…
There are certain museums that are the gold standard of their genre. For natural history, The Museum of Natural History in NYC. For science, the Smithsonian in DC. For art, The Louvre, or perhaps either of the Guggenheim Museums in NYC, Bilbao, or Venice.
For autos, The Petersen should be the goal of all others.
If Camaros were my thing, I could see dropping some coin to acquire this one.
I know that many Jalops find it sacrilegious to not drive a car. I get that.
However, I sincerely appreciate that there are some cars that are preserved for a future enthusiast.
The cars I couldn’t have new as a kid are the ones I will buy…
The tolls into NYC from NJ are absolutely ridiculous. On a related note, if one’s job requires them to go into the office daily, or most of the week, this is another reason people are quitting for mostly remote jobs.
The traffic, the parking, the tolls, and the stress of commuting are not worth it for so many jobs.
A few possible reasons.
1) Police departments across the country are understaffed. There just isn’t the bandwidth there was was for minor traffic stops.
2) For years traffic stops for these minor issues sometimes equated to “causes” for certain cops to harass or threaten a driver.
I live in a two plate state and in…
I think this assertion that 10% of the evaded tolls to come from public safety people is just as much of a stretch as the OP of this thread assuming someone with a luxury SUV refusing to pay tolls is broke.
