I appreciate and admire the ambition of any car brand that takes on the establishment, or even tries its hands at manufacturing such a complex product at scale. As history has shown, most of these businesses will fail.

Front plate required states, seem to have relaxed their enforcement of front plate violations in recent years. I feel like every other car in my neighborhood is a Tesla or a Lexus, all of which look far better without a front license plate, and as such, my guess would be that 9 out of 10 of those vehicles have opted

I got paywalled so I couldn’t get detail on how/where they’ve arrived at declaring 12% to be an average. Honestly, that sounds way off.

That sucker’s nuclear?

Ok, that’s fair. I was wondering how much water is used in a typical car fire. I’m surprised the tanks are just 500 gal. a 15x4 swimming pool, which is rather small, holds 5000 gallons. That wouldn’t be a surprise to me to use that much to extinguish a car fire.

I try to run through the comments first, but I may be duplicating, but here goes.

Haha. If a username equates to expertise, I’ll consider changing mine to something more apropos.

I feel for anyone who just had to have a new car last year at any cost. However, for anyone who had a decent used car, and could find a fair deal on a new one, paired with the lower interest rates that are now nearly impossible to find, good job.

This is absolutely relevant, and the humorous take exploits the irony.

I have no doubt that people mistakenly or even falsely accuse dealerships of damage, so great that they have tools to protect themselves.

However, the power still feels imbalanced the customer and the dealership, in favor of the dealership.

Broken taillights are are stupid example to use as a reason to end traffic stops. I would agree that traffic stops for broken taillights alone need to stop. Back in the days of my youth I was pulled over regularly. I’m not saying that I was perfect, but never was I pulled over for anything serious, or remotely

It absolutely doesn’t have to though. Just because something has been a certain way, doesn’t mean it can’t change.

With the exception of some bespoke cars that are primarily or only made to order, other cars are commodities.

Dealerships have established an adversarial relationship with the public. They offer an unlevel

Again, not judging you, and I get the logic. As nice as your install looks, it would create a level of OCD-induced anxiety for me.

I need my cars to look stock. I tend to option out every car I buy new as I know I’ll have FOMO if I don’t as I won’t add third-party add-ons or replacements.

For me function and aesthetics

Ok. I’m sure the data exists, but I feel that this probably was a trigger for the uptake in leasing.

As someone who has lived in some of the country’s largest cities, in rural towns, and in suburbia, each have merits and downsides. Suburbia seems to have the best of everything, yet not feel like the compromise it actually is.

Also, lawns are a quite enjoyable endeavor for those of us who put in the care and work to

I love opposite day!

On a normal day, a customer is generally concerned about a dealer ripping them off. On opposite day, the dealer is worried about the customer ripping them off.

While not as click worthy, there’s an alternative perspective to be had.

They may seem to be far behind on pure EVs, but they seem to be light years ahead on hybrids.

Having owned both Toyota (Lexus) and Ford hybrids, it is clear to me, at least from my very narrow perspective is that Toyota doesn’t cut corners.

100% this.

I think Toyota’s take seems to be traditionally Japanese from my perspective.

Invention is cool, but it seems like empires can also be built from innovation. Taking a great idea, or product and making it better is what it seems Toyota and other Japanese manufacturers do best.

Staying with tried and true

One thing I love about being a car enthusiast and hobby collector is the fact I can coexist with two diverging perspectives on value.

As a buyer, no price is too low. As a seller, no price is too high.

Also, live by the Warren Buffett principle of buying when times are bad, and selling when times are good.

This

Best funny of the day so far. Thx!

$150k seems fair given that it seems to not require any overnight parts from Japan and these other reasons.

I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Ask any racer. Any real racer. It don’t matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning’s winning. I’m one of those boys who appreciates a fine body regardless of the
