Its a good solution for you. I don’t see BMW following suit, so I think for you, it was smart to not hold out for an OEM upgrade.
I agree with everything you wrote, and I’ll add this. We need cars like this to exist. I prefer to buy cars that are original, or nearly original, however, even very low mile “original” cars have often had non-oem parts used for common repairs and routine maintenance. Having a car like this, likely with all of its…
Let me qualify that further, or correct anything I may have misspoke.
So, I’m just not down with the jargon. I’m with the idea that even a luxury branded car, while it may have a spectacular factory finish, may not have had the hands-on loving care of someone who can flatten even the best clearcoat. I guess the term…
That’s one good reason, also the neutral colors tend to offer longevity on tastefulness.
Some of those colors just don’t work for that car. I don’t hate any of the colors on their own, but they just don’t all work for the design and lines of that car.
As someone who works in design, I can say there is a lot to finding the right color for a product.
Finding a color that accentuates the right parts of a design, working in various lighting conditions, and that has the durability to stand up against changing trends is not an easy task.
Look at so many cars where…
The cars I buy to keep for a long time are among the colors that would be considered less exciting.
Why? By staying peripheral to trends, my car doesn’t look or feel as old as it is as it ages. White and silver, while not particularly exciting, are really good at not becoming annoying many years into their ownership.
Have you driven a fjord lately?
There was an incorrect headline over at Jalopnik yesterday where a datapoint linked to a timeframe was incorrectly used. The headline for the post stated that a certain model of car lost nearly $2.00 of value each day. In fact, the depreciation was $1.79 per hour over more than a two year timeframe.
Does it really…
Lexus. Reliable, and well-built for sure. I’ve not been in any Lexus in its modern time that wasn’t a nice place to spend time.
I’m not a Tesla car owner but I’m getting tired of what seem like lazy attacks of the brand and in particular the Model S. Knowing and having met many Tesla owners, I’m not hearing or seeing these criticisms in real life.
Of course, I’m but one human, with a limited sphere of influence, but I feel like I have enough…
I’m going to say that the coating technologies are the next evolution. “Ceramic” coatings are all the rage for those who want longer-lasting surface protection. I’m not sold that the benefit justifies the cost for a professional to “paint correct” and then apply the “ceramic” coating to a car’s finish. I could be…
Wasn’t there a point in time where just about the only place you could find a Roy Rogers restaurant was at a thruway/parkway rest stop?
I now see that there are many Roy Rogers locations and they look to be franchising/franchising again. But they are mostly located in the Northeast, with some locations as far south as…
Its an interesting story nonetheless. I like the oddball Cali only cars. 1990s and early 2000s EVs are fun ones to see around.
Did they lose $2/day or $1.69/hour?
Not giving you a hard time, but as I read the headline and then the post, “Or as my boss Bob Sorokanich pointed out, $1.69 of value lost every single hour. That’s shocking.”
If there are 8760 hours in a regular, 365-day year, at $1.69/hour that’s $14,804 per calendar year, exclusive…
There’s a lot to be excited about. Nice collection!
Hey friend, how you have chosen to communicate is the issue at hand.
Opinions are not facts, and as such cannot be wrong, even if they differ from your own point of view. If you believe that your position and opinion are the only right one, then you’re converting your opinion into a fact, which would make you a…
Love this response and you nailed it. There are so many examples where tech, content, engineering, efficiency, longevity and performance trounce predecessor models.
Awe, you really know how to hit someone in the feels. The good vibes you radiate can be felt from a far.
It has been a real pleasure debating this topic with you. It would be wonderful to meet you in person one day so that I can directly experience your kindness, as intelligence, and as well versed in business, law,…
