The New Beetle didn’t find its way in the world. It didn’t capitalize on the design trust fund left for it by its legacy. It didn’t sit in the design language of the rest of the brand.

It is retro enough that unless they double-down on this design language across their line, it could look cheesy and dated. I’m happy to be wrong.

I’m also in the camp that the Canoo in some ways is the more faithful successful to the original bus than the new.

There’s no debate that this was an error and there’s no argument that the law is pretty dang clear. Workers have legal rights in the case of underpayment. Businesses have legal rights in the case of overpayment. It seems that protections exist on both sides.

There are times where the legal thing to do, and the kind

I come from a family with a legacy of VW van ownership that spans more than half a century. It is a part of our culture. I’ve been excited about the evolution of the T-Line, but If I’m being honest this doesn’t hit the mark.

Why?
It isn’t the propulsion tech. I’m fine with this being an EV. That’s cool.

Here’s why.

Maybe that is true with VW? I can say that the Honda Ridgeline made for the Canada market has more features than are available in the US. Power folding mirrors are one feature that comes to mind.

At $1,350 I can’t buy this fast enough.

EDIT: $13,500? ND ND ND ND

Nissan should buy this and archive it. They may not see $13.5k either, but that’s where this should go.

100%, with this “cash in hand” comment, I think people are potentially setting themselves up for bad situations. I know most people are good, but bad people tend to over index in situations where money, emotions, and rational thinking are often devoid.

My vote is for the Wagon Queen Family Truckster.

Zero malaise in that design department.

Whoa. Had no idea. Mind blown!

Brilliant choice.

I’ve only ever seen one of these in person back in the mid-to-late 90s. The one I saw was owned by Chick DeLorenzo, and if I recall it wasn’t one of the original group, but his was made later with NOS parts. Its been a long time, but I believe this recollection is accurate.

Is that built by Wagon Queen? I think I hate it now, I don’t need to wait until I drive it.

FYI, I know it’s a Lagonda.

I loved the first gen Taurus and Sable. As a kid they were as cool as spaceships even if I knew they weren’t cars built to stand the test of time.

However, I’m a fan of the mid-cycle refresh where the fore and aft designs of the car got a tad sleeker and better balanced.

Oh yeah, I hear what you’re saying. That’s scary. I can only imagine the feelings for you and the buyer in a situation like that.

I’ve sold a few high-dollar bikes a few years back and I was nervous the first time. I see what you’re saying, but there are alternatives to the cash guarantee.

1) Make sure you’re properly

100%, this is an automatic, thanks but no thanks from me too.

At least with FB Marketplace, one can piece together a potential buyer’s identity before setting a meeting.

CL, and the old classifieds way takes the risk factor up a notch, or so it seems.

I only recently traded my first car after more than 25 years of

I get that privately selling car has risks. But, this whole trend of certified funds in hand is a bunch of bologna. I’m with you on that.

Everything about this screams at a buyer to run in the other direction.

I mean GLWS to the current owner, but this may not be the gold deposit he/she thinks they’ve staked a claim

I’ll counter that back. Having grown up in NYC, dings, dents, rust and bumpers that are hanging on by a thread, or a zip tie were a all a common sight. I returned to NYC for an extended stay this summer, and I know now why I’ve not looked back after so many years. Even if one is meticulous about cleanliness and

This is outside of my wheelhouse, I admittedly know little about Audi and the ups and downs and potential pitfalls of owning a vehicle of this marque, much of this marque and of this vintage.

At 21 years old, the asking price is a tough pill to swallow. This doesn’t seem old enough to actually be cool again, yet it is

Yeah, this is an excellent point. The Jalopnik writeup doesn’t definitively state who was affected and if those affected were of a certain paygrade or worker classification. However, my assumptions and the focus of my distaste with how the situation is being handled is based in part on what I read in the referenced

No the point stands, despite your selective quoting. But thanks.
