Dealer franchise laws are strong, so I get the underlying politics.

I’m not sure I’ve ever had a positive car dealer experience, and I’m not sure it is even technically possible, unless you have zero expectations about the idea that you may be treated fairly.

However, I see some merit in the model, though I think it

For what it is worth, I’m not a Tesla or Elon Musk sycophant, but I do think you have to give credit where credit is due. I do have to say that putting self-promotion ahead of a multitude of hard and soft-skills is a comment that reeks of bias against him.

Many people do not understand the complexities of building a

I totally understand. I’m with you most of the time. I have a pretty solid home setup, but it doesn’t replicate the theater experience.

I don’t think I’d have gone to the theater to watch it either. I was going to wait. But at a recent work function, we had a private theater screening.

Yes, like so many franchise reboots, this does suffer from the stereotypical greatest hits feel that others intentionally, and very cheesily capture. But beyond that, this is a modern movie, with a better story arc. The action scenes of the movie are truly intense. There are enough turns toward the end that it is hard

I once saw a brand name dealer use metal screws to attach a plastic star-shaped dealer badge to the trunks, hatches, and tailgates of the cars they sold. Yes. They screwed it to the cars. This wasn’t 50 years ago either, but it was a few years ago. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I hope they’ve since ended this barbaric

It may be time to hang that front plate. I’m not saying your skin color isn’t a factor, and I’m sorry that in 2022 humans have not yet evolved to understand that diversity is a good thing. I hope that racial profiling can someday be a thing of the past.

Most of what you said is logical and agreeable. I don’t think your comparison is sound, though it is certainly relatable due to it having been previously covered on Jalopnik.

First thought is that this looks like a hat tip to Whataburger.

Hands down, there’s no car more fun than a fox body Mustang. With 225 hp and about 300tq or rear-wheel drive fun, these are little bits of nostalgia that people typically remember fondly as they made appearances in countless music videos and movies. For kids of the 80s and 90s, these were the quickest affordable cars

Not sad at all. I’m right there with you. They seemed ahead of their time, and they’re excellent examples of a challenge to the status quo when the Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme was the best selling car in the US.

My reading comprehension is atrocious. Thanks for your input!

AMC didn’t put any of its Concept 80 ideas into production.”

Sorry for you Caz. I hope you heal quickly and fully.

Wow, that jump looks rather tame. The landing and bounce don’t look overly dramatic. I’m actually surprised that this resulted in injury.

Another contender for worst European car. Fiat Spider 2000 circa the late 1970s/early 1980s.

This is the kind of import that should’ve ruined our diplomatic relations with Italy.

I remember seeing a few of these crap cans in my youth. They looked tired when they were new, and looked ready for the junk heap after one or two winters.

I heard a story of a friend’s dad who had a BiTurbo inexplicably and spontaneously combust.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the new and used market once production gets back to “normal” levels. If the big automakers go back to building more than demand dictates, I think we could see the return of incentives which will in turn, drive down the “value” of used vehicles.

I have two perspectives on the car market.

Best thing I’ve read all day. However, I’ve traded in those corded lights for rechargeable LED work lights. While they don’t have the fancy hook, they do burn bright and don’t give off any noticeable heat.

That’s what I’m talking about. Every bit counts.
