Tesla and CarMax have a good idea where the price is the price. They can raise the price, they can lower the price, but if you and your neighbor buy the same car, on the same day, you’ll pay the same price. It may not be the lowest price, but it is a fair price.
You can only be a bit angry at the dealerships. They only charge what people will pay. If people stop paying the markups, they’ll stop charging them. If they need to charge these markups to keep the lights on, I get it.
Some of us bought a car 4 years ago, and with 75k miles can get our money back. Good sense has flown out the window.
Making cars is hard, can’t be said enough. But, often we call out the discrepancies and flaws we can see. What worries me are the bolts, wires, welds, etc. that may have needed to get done before the end of a shift before someone just punched out and left it as it is.
However, I joke. I love Ford. I just know that I’m not getting a Toyota.
That’s pretty close. What’s the problem?

The Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth K cars had this odd problem of handles just popping off in one’s hands, even in the middle of the summer.
Yes, some are worst than others though. This is a particularly awful job to do. So much labor and so little to show for it. It isn’t a job where you have something to talk about at your next track day.
As someone who has listened to Howard for nearly 30 years, starting at a young age, I have always understood the many facets of his personality. What we’re seeing more of now, has been with him all along. However, he’s become a master interviewer along the way. His interview of Lady Gaga enlightened me on just how…
No snark taken. I get it.
In the mid to late 1970s Ford interns were given a heater core and the task of designing a car around it. The result was the fox body Mustang. To be honest, the heat works fine. The problem is that if that heater core should leak, the entirety of the vehicle must be disassembled to replace it.
I was a 20-something in the H-D ownership camp. Per a previous post, I wasn’t into the culture, but I appreciated the hardware.
I’m curious for more information about the side effects, or ethics of side effects that you referenced.
The hate for Harley-Davidson is understandable, but not entirely fair.
Affordability hasn’t stopped most people from buying cars over the last 20 or so years.
He knows what he’s got. I’m going to vote NP, with justification.
What’s most surprising to me about all of this is that someone would want to sell a Kia dealership when Tellurides are just about the hottest thing on the block. Or maybe that’s why they were selling the dealership at this time?
Wow. So sorry this happened to you. I would be gutted if I were in your shoes. I’m glad you’ve gone public with this.
