I worked for a few mid/large developers for about a decade, it’s not at all the norm at that level. If failing to pay and ignoring messages is how they’re treating smaller or indie developers on the regular then it’s absolutely lack of professionalism. I feel like Alien Isolation was the exception rather than the rule for CA. They’re otherwise the poster-child for copy/paste reskins with a pinch of no-name and mediocre titles sprinkled in.
