For anyone interested, I’ve found a couple of good articles on Ruby Rose leaving Twitter.
“So... why isn’t io9 hired you to write a daily article?“
Here. Let’s show you how that’s not a reach to say that the Star Wars haterate is emboldening these people:
Selma Blair also got caught up into that same mentality when she stood up to defend Gunn. A lot of folks immediately tried to downplay her own history of dealing with sexual harassment and humiliation and attacked her.
Oh, and Dave weighed in on the Breitbart shit, of course.
I’ve just seen a few unsubstantiated claims on Twitter from people claiming to have heard about Feige getting into it with Disney execs. I’m honestly not sure if actual sources are involved here, or if it’s just another round of telephone.
This past weekend didn’t have much going on, in regards to Gunn/Disney/Cernovich news.
That’ll be in my post this morning. Fucking assholes.
Are you guys going to have any coverage of Ruby Rose quitting Twitter (like Kelly Marie Tran and Daisy Ridley before her)?
Is it just me or do the Russos always seem incredibly tired and bored during interviews? Not a criticism, just an observation. The guys work hard — and they have projects lined up for them around the block — so their disinterest in any promotion is certainly warranted. I just find it amusing.
Thanks for doing all this everyday! I try to find as much info as I can when it happens but I like waiting for your concise comments during the weekday mornings!
I’ve long been saying they have at least 6 other agents they could craft adventures with. Each one can be different, not just a Bond copy.
I’m glad Dave Bautista is being quiet. He said his peace, he made his point. He has already jeopardized a career I have enjoyed watching grow. If he keeps being vocal at this point, he could change the perception in the industry as a guy that stood up for his worker, and beliefs to a malcontent, and nonstop PR issue.…
As Michelle from Full House would say, “you got it, dude!”
I bookmarked the Deadline article earlier in case you hadn’t seen it, but you’re on the ball as always!
Right now the news on Gunn and Disney seems to be all about the possibility of Marvel/Kevin Feige having stepped in to act as a mediator between the two in the hopes of salvaging the situation somewhat. This isn’t too surprising ad Kevin and Marvel were betting a lot of the MCU’s future on Gunn and his creative input.…
Not only is he still under contract, but Disney may be in pretty deep if they try to get rid of him without a substantial payout--he didn’t violate any of the terms of the contract, since the tweets were made (with Disney’s full knowledge) before he directed GotG 1. They can’t claim he was terminated for cause.
It doesn’t surprise me at all that Marvel is playing middleman here. Kevin Feige of all people knows how important James Gunn is to GOTG3 and seems level headed enough to want what is best for everyone involved.
Keep fighting the good fight. Eventually you’ll make all the right enemies lists...
