Keep leading the parade Meatwadf! Maybe someone will start showing Morning Spoilers to Iger !

I’m only posting this as a reply to Marsh, as my original seems to have vanished. Possible Kinja, I suppose. Possible.

Maybe around the earnings conference yesterday someone went, “Shit. We didn’t hit our expectations and our stock took a bit of a dip. What? One of our tent pole movies for 2020 is in danger of totally imploding? Oh nooooo.”

Wait... what? Are... are you guys actually reporting on this?

This sounds like Disney realized they stepped in it and are trying to get out of the whole situation.

Exactamundo.

In addition, two sources told the trade that Marvel is still open to working with Gunn, if not on Guardians, then maybe on other projects. “An end-all verdict hasn’t been issued and conversations with Marvel are still ongoing,” according to one source.

I have heard of suspicions that it may have had something to do with the Fox buyout. Not wanting to risk angering the crazies and getting Trump’s attention, so tossing Gunn under the bus as fast as possible was their best option for dealing with the DOJ. Obviously that’s only rumor and theory, but I could kind of see

Did you know I volunteer on the regular at food banks and support programs like Doctors Without Borders and RAINN with what little money I can throw their way?

I would seriously disagree with that. I feel you’r definitely correct about the number of appearances being a huge difference between the two. I would also say that Bautista has much great name recognition in a general audience than Howard did, thanks in part to his history in the WWE. Simply put, Bautista made Drax

What do you think about people saying Bautista is both stupid and replaceable. They keep bringing up Terrence Howard as an example but Howard only had 1 movie while Bautista has been in 3 with a 4th in the can arleady.

I’ll admit, I considered not even bothering with anything today, but there are a few things in the news concerning or related to the Gunn-Disney-Cernovich/neo Nazi-online mob situation, so I’ll throw it up just in case.

Can we just dispense with all of the BS and give meatwadf his own blog on io9?  Nothing against James or anything, but how many people here have enjoyed his daily comments since the Gunn incident?

I thought the same thing the week after this went down. They created this problem. This entire PR nightmare is on their hands because they handled it in the absolute worst way possible. Instead of even pretending to do some sort of “investigation” and let things quiet down before making a decision, they pushed the

Thanks for that. Very good little video on the matter. Dan’s point of view is a lot like mine. While I am very much bothered by Gunn’s firing and feel we should judge the man based on his actions and words over the past decade, I am probably even more angry over exactly HOW Disney handled the whole thing. Kowtowing

I come here just for your comments because io9, for some God forsaken reason, refuses to cover any of this.

So for today, I have a rather oddball assortment of articles I’ve assembled. I’m also trying to track down specifics right now, but it does seem like a few hashtags related to Gunn (in a good way) seem to be trending a bit more than they had been lately. If I can find out more, I’ll post it here, too.

Then why did they hire a director that they knew for a fact made offensive movies for Troma?

Except they did. For two whole movies.

Dave B sounds like the best person you could imagine to have your back.
