My suspicion is that Marvel ‘s silence means that Feige didn’t want Gunn fired, but isn’t going to directly contradict his bosses. This decision was clearly made entirely by Disney corporate, and I still think 99% of the reason was because they didn’t want any push-back from the administration on the merger.
