Finally finished it. Good stuff there. I’ll definitely be sharing it.

One of the articles you posted the other day mentioned the wachowski’s, as a replacement which I kind of like. Both for who they are and how much that would upset the people who were after Gunn but also reined in and working from the script he had I could see them making something good.
I do agree that this has been mysteriously absent from io9, and I’m glad that you’re filling that gap. So thanks for that.
I really don’t think this is the only one that should be checked in on, but it’s the one that I’m currently following. This is just one that I find interesting, and feel that since io9 has seemingly abandoned it, I may as well do the work.
So, I may as well get this out of the way first thing this morning, but Variety is throwing a little water on the “Gunn may get rehired” fire that flared up yesterday. I gotta say, this news isn’t all that surprising. Disney is not the kind of company that likes to admit mistakes, and I think them letting Gunn pick…
THANK YOU!!! I was wondering where I remembered that from!!!
It’s almost like you’re better at iO9's job... than, well... iO9.
Not surprisingly, after the cast letter for James Gunn was released this week like so much kraken, plenty of news outlets have a lot to say on the matter.
Is this supposed to be satire?
The Empire Strikes Back is a classic, but no one has any clue over how long a period the events took place. Days, weeks, months. It really isn’t clear at all how long Luke trained and the Falcon was on the run.
A. How does your sliding scale incorporate other adjectives, such as great, terrific, or excellent?
But the only instance in which the timeline really matters is the time between Avengers 2 and setting up the Sokovia Accords. After that, timing doesn’t really matter to anything!
Who the fuck cares? The movies are entertaining, engaging, and most importantly, GOOD. I don’t care about the timeline as long as I’m getting good movies
he did break down and cry about it at one point. he’s also so obsessed with vengeance that goes for the kill instead of the glove as thanos points out. so there are some nods to what you’re saying.
In more enjoyable news, I did find this link today and I laughed nearly the entire time reading it.
I’m not saying that’s all there is to it of course, but Disney clearly never had a problem with hiring directors with actual child molestation charges on their record before, so the social media lynch mobs led by neo Nazi faux moral outrage is also a very important topic to cover here. When an attack on someone is…
I think all of this comments section’s focus on the alt right faux outrage is missing the point. Pedophilia is the third rail for Disney for obvious reasons and reasons that will probably become more obvious as reporters do more digging. It was better for Disney to fire Gunn immediately rather than have to start…
huh Weird. I don’t usually watch the Today Show, but at least they covered it, I suppose. It would have been nice to delve a little deeper, but I can’t say I really am surprised they didn’t.
Spin it whatever way you want, but to say ratings don’t matter seems not true, just see every show canceled mid season ever. However if it’s cheap enough and eats some time Disney/ABC will probably take it. ESPN would rather show poker games than hockey games just because of the cost.
And then remember that the majority of TVs tuned into watching it on ESPN were at bars where the TV was already on ESPN and nobody felt like taking the effort of changing the channel even though most of the people didn’t really care about Overwatch and were hardly watching it.
