Rented a Suburban on my last trip to Chicago (pre-pandemic). I saw multiple user’s phone contacts on the list so let a co-worker pair his phone with it instead of mine.  (I did tell him about this but he didn't care.)

Warrants? We don’t need no steenking warrants!

Warrants, lol. They actually don’t need them anymore.  So many loopholes.

Ahh, the joys of an old car. . .

My plan is to make my next new car a 1991 Toyota Cressida

Broke: Living out of a van

Wow, we use to call these homemade campers. Now thier fancy “tiny homes”

Texas does have dedicated U-turn lanes that I rarely see anywhere else. You still have to exit the highway, but you avoid any stop lights and can keep your speed above 25mph for the entire turnaround if you don’t need to yield for oncoming traffic.

In-N-Out’s fries are bad and I absolutely love them.

Naw, I grew up when there was still only a handful of In-n-Out Burger locations and it was a regular treat we had and still the fries are middling. Their burgers are best, their shakes are great, the Lemon-Up is a delight, but the fries are on a sliding scale from “ok I guess” to “ugh” depending on how hot they were.

I want my money back. I’d like to speak with the manager.

Ironically, the article wont let me reply. These guys are drinking the good stuff today!

There are numerous places along the various boardwalks in New Jersey that serve fresh-cut fries (as in, you can see them get pressed through the cutter and dropped in the oil right before your eyes) and they are delicious. I grew up eating those fries, and still have fond memories of them. I also lived in SoCal for 6

100% agree. I’ll add the In ‘n’ Out always has a line for days. Growing up in Chicago, I get the cult following, I have it with White Castle. But, I’ll also admit to people that didn’t grow up with it, that it’s probably over rated, but I still love it.

Regional pride more than anything else. It’s fine but nothing to write home about.

Yeah, there are some people that just don’t get the appeal of fresh cut fries. I guess they like what they like. I do think In-n-Out’s fries are usually under-salted, and they are much better if you get them well done or double-fried or whatever they call it.

“In-N-Out’s fries are bad” is such a weird soft troll.

No one’s doubting it’s the future, just like EVs. But saying 5 years ago that self-driving will be here in 3 years, and it’s now 5 years later, and it will be another 10-15 years before it’s becoming widely available, that’s just a SMALL miss that’s worthy of pointing out, no? Being too early is just as bad, or even

This article, but regarding electric vehicles and written in 2027.

It’s going to be an exceptionally long time before EV’s are 50% of new car sales.

And the timing chains on both are in the WORST possible place on the motor. What a dumb design.
