In most states no, almost nothing is covered except psychotherapy, sometimes hormones, as I can do now in my state But a few states, like Oregon and Washington (where I’m moving to in 3 days actually!^^) cover various elements of transition by default, the state medicaid does, as do private insurances.

I don’t know honestly. I would assume so, but I couldn’t say really. I assume it’s possible to have a vaginal delivery, but I dont know enough about the GRS I want to say what is and isn’t possible, esp since it seems they transplant the cervix, and parts of the vagina with the uterus in this procedure.

I imagine at some point the uterus wouldn’t be able to carry children anymore due to stress, but who knows, the duggars have shown its a very resilient organ. But it would be wonderful for so many women if it could be passed from woman to woman to help them with their hearts desire for birthing their own children^^

This is incredible. As someone with a totally lousy uterus (currently pregnant by a medical miracle), and having looked extensively into surrogacy, this is just an amazing advance for fertility.

Now I feel bad for not recycling my uterus when I got rid of it this summer.

My grandfather, who just passed away this past Thanksgiving, had 12 children. Among his belongings that we sorted through was his list of names and birthdays he kept of his children. I miss that man.
