You are so welcome, thank you for the kind words, they’re much appreciated. I’m glad everything worked out.

So sweet of you to say...thanks for the love! Much needed and appreciated this week.

Ouch.

If you do a google search for this chair online (King Edward VII sex chair) several people have provided helpful illustrations superimposed over the chair!

Im sorry. That sucks, especially since you had your son with you. People are assholes.

Gross! I worked at a library for 10 years. Sexual harassment from patrons was pretty much a daily occurrence....staff not so much. We were able to write notes on patron accounts, but it was related stuff like them being racking up fees and using bs excuses etc. And nothing patrons would have had access to.

It does help to read the books in order since they are in first person and follow the trajectory of Austens life, but if you just want to give the series a try “Jane and the 12 Days of Christmas” is pretty much a stand alone book.

Good point. The selling a toilet seat thing wouldn’t surprise me, especially since people have attempted to sell pap smears and blood samples they claimed belonged to a celebrity.

My “favorite” experience to tell people about is when I got sexually harassed IN A CEMETERY while searching for a relative’s grave. True story.

Perfect comparison. Lets just hope he doesnt have one of those “special chairs” like Bertie did back in the day.

Most noncompete clauses are completely unenforceable because they are too broad, and some states refuse to enforce them at all, but it varies from state to state. Companies know this but hope that employees won’t bother checking. Obviously a lawyer would know best and would be able to help with your felony concern as

LOVE your user name!

They are what we would call “cozy mysteries” at the library, so nothing too intense or graphic. ☺

Thank you. Is there some way I can save the group on my Discus account or do I have to use a link each time? I wasn’t able to find any info on how to do that thru Discus.

I’ve had the same issue with Atwood. The only other book of hers I was able to finish was Oryx and Crake (but not the sequels).

Thanks for the shoutout! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Henri was Grumpy Cat before it was cool.

Have you read any of the Stephanie Barron mysteries with Jane Austen? Although the concept sounds a bit silly, they are all pretty good. Barron writes in the style of the period and her research is impeccable. She’s been writing them since the late 90s, so there are a bunch.

I have the weird habit of reading several books at once.....

Jezzies with the Discus group.....could you post the link again? Thanks!
