So if self-driving cars are woke, isn’t that going to be a problem for President Musk’s current (and fleeting, and drug-addled) focus on robotaxis? I kind of don’t know who to root for in a Cruz v. Musk fight. Team Asteroid?

I did see numbers close to a 60% reduction in sales in January for both France and Germany. (I think one was 59% and the other was 63%, but I’m forgetting which was which.) I guess they’re not finding the “Roman salute” amusing.

That’s a good point. Granted, at the time, I think he was bloviating about canceling consumer mandates that didn’t actually exist and/or were on the state level and not part of his purview (technically) anyway, but if he actually honored this contract....ha ha ha ha, I couldn’t even finish that.

It wouldn’t be a predicament at all, regardless of when the contract was drawn up, if all the American automakers had a “fair” shot at the contract (or as much “fair” as any such thing can ever be).

Although that said, I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump changed it to ICE anyway, given his (and his base’s) hostility to

We kinda deserve it at this point. I just hope we can ensure it lands on Musk.

As far as the Chrysler/Alfa pivot goes, I don’t think it really matters. A quick Google shows that Alfa sold a whopping 6,800 cars in the US last year and maybe 80K worldwide (and on the decline). By comparison, Ford sold 4.5 million globally. And Chrysler doesn’t make...cars. (Yeah, I know, it’s an exaggeration.)

Yeah, I’m on that same fence. It looks clean, but $6K still seems a tad high for a 37-year-old 2wd truck with a rebuilt engine. Guess it depends on if the seller “knows what I have” or is open to a little bargaining.

ND, as much as I’d love to have this conversation over and over again:

“Hey, is that an old Cavalier? It’s in pretty good shape.”
“Nope, this is a Buick Reatta. It was their halo car, doncha know?”
(confused looks)

I have definitely heard stories of friends of friends going to various EU locales, breaking a bone, and then being charged a whopping $300 for an ER visit and a cast because the country they’re visiting has proper healthcare. But that’s anecdotal. I’m sure there are travel websites that cover this, though, so best to

The article isn’t very clear, but if this was legitimate influenza and not the sniffles most people commonly call “the flu,” they might have given him antivirals. Which they then charged him $47K for. I kind of feel like that might be the bill from a US hospital if you end up being taken to the emergency room for

And could be a near-future missed opportunity. Any automaker who is currently not run by an out-and-proud-Nazi could probably eat some or all of Tesla’s lunch with even just a semi-robust EV offering. VW’s decision to not give the US anything other than the bus and that ID.BarOfSoap perplexes and annoys me, for

1. I pulled up a block from ASUC. A female student walking by talking on the phone said that a Cybertruck just ruined her day loudly, obviously wanting me to hear it.

In the past week alone, Musk has drawn criticism for appearing to performing a Nazi salute on stage multiple times, and then doubling down and posting a bunch of Nazi “jokes” on Xitter.

What the hell was we saving it for? I did not spend a lot of time digging into this, but it looks like a Viper ran you about $71K or $72K in 2002. (Yeah, this one is special, but I didn’t bother to spec this trim package.) That would be $123K in current day dollars. This was a stupid investment. Whoever bought it

Agreed. I want to like it, but too many red flags, including “beautifully milled piece of ash” to fix the headliner. I don’t want to find out what else he decided to “fix” with wood. Or interact with this guy at all. ND.

The one saving grace is Musk has finally peaked in terms of his fawning audience.

If you mean the picture at the Autocar link, that’s a render from Autocar itself, not Citroen.

Much of my considered opinion comes from personal experience and speaking with people who are poor and have to take a car in to Manhattan.

Maybe they can just sell this one to Richard Rawlings and let him ruin a second F40.

There are literally thousands of workers coming into Manhattan from poorer exurbs and outer borough neighborhoods every day in decades old Sentras etc. because they can’t depend on shitty bus service to get them home on time to their children and families.
