I can’t hook up any of my Nintendo portables to a TV without modding. I can’t hook up my Vita to my TV. I could probably hook up a PSP still if I could find the cables. And just about every portable that wasn’t from Sega before then couldn’t be hooked up to a TV. Tablets are another thing, but they weren’t explicitly

Sega was never, ever what Nintendo is and that path led to the original company not even existing anymore.

That makes a tremendous amount of sense. It’s honestly what the vita/wii should have been. Have a handheld that you can take with you, and a more powerful docking station that bumps the game visuals up to semi modern standards at home.

Pretty much what I expected. Nintendo can’t win the power race, but they know portables, and mobile technology has advanced so much in the last few years (thanks to the smartphone revolution) that you can get more than enough power on a portable format for Nintendo’s needs.

Well, your smartphone isn’t going to be capable of playing Breath of the Wild anytime soon, so I doubt that’s going through their minds.

Have you played the garbage on the Play Store?

This is great. There is basically zero chance I would have bought the NX if it was a console to connect to a TV. But now that the only time I really have to game is during my commute (and the Vita gets very little support), I am very excited about a full blown ‘Next-Gen’ hand held.

This is already a dangerous thing to do to people, but given the current tensions between police and civilians *someone* is going to die. I’m shocked they didn’t gun him down upon arrival because wallets, toy trucks, and phones are so commonly “mistaken” for guns...

One of these days, a swatting story is going to end in death. And it makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it. Fuck the people who do this shit.

Shouldn’t we put the blame on the guys that brought weapons and came up to the area trying to rob a mass of people that were just enjoying a game instead of the one civilian that legally had the right to try to defend themselves?

I find it funny and quite naive that you would think that just because you comply you wont get shot. Its not about the possessions, its about the fact someone is willing to kill you over them and I wont let that happen. If you believe thats the best course of action, I can respect that. But know that complying doesnt

Lesson of the story? Buy a gun & learn to shoot if you can. Because shooting people (even if they’re assholes) is bad but it is still miles better then getting shot.

You’re about to be sent to a deserted island, where you’ll be stranded, cut off from all human contact for the rest of your life.

Investors are confused!

This is how you sound,

Yeah, how dare they take up YOUR bench space? How dare they get outside? How dare they do something they enjoy while you also do what you enjoy? Since you seem to be aware of how much of an old jackass you sound like, maybe do something about it.

Is that supposed to be comforting? I thought they were going for morbid and depressing and making fun of Nintendo’s seeming lack of forward progress as a gaming company.

If all those cutscenes triggered for you was “That’s a foot” or “That’s a dress” then I guess the whole Avere/Edda storyline involving some MSQ cutscenes and the whole of the Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hard) storyline didn’t leave any impression on you.

Wait, what? Why do you say that turn-based JRPGs need to be portable? There’s nothing about them I see that means that. In fact, I’m rather relieved that this (and Cold Steel) are on home consoles for a change, as I hate playing games on portable systems while sitting at home (which is where 99% of my gaming happens).
