I assume they'll remove the references to her father being the "king of the negroes."

Is that rare and/or surprising ?

if given the choice between them or my cat, I’d kill any humans, including family members.
I’d never stop looking for him if I lost him...

Our local art house scheduled extra screenings. As expected, everyone there was clearly a fan, in fact it was almost like watching it in someone’s living room. If you‘ve never paid much attention to the series it may not be of interest, but if you’re a fan, well, you have to go, and it is exactly as you imagine it. It

Yeah, I see and understand the snark about the show on various corners of the internet (and I think some of it is warranted). But sometimes I think those critical of it underestimate the size of the audience that does watch the show. Like you, I’m not surprised it did well. I am a bit surprised it outdid Ad Astra

Those kids weren’t cool.

That’s quite true with music. I long ago realized that I’d be happier in the long run if I self-rationed good songs, rather than just repeating them like a rat in a Skinner box.

Who knows. It’s probably okay if you like that kind of thing.

Absol-fucking-lootly. And I’d totally be down with one or two superhero movies a year. But instead of interesting fantasy or sci-fi movies we just get dozens of superhero movies. Enough already!

Enjoying any amount of Rent for any amount of time demonstrates a fundamentally flawed character.

30 Rock. Rewatched it almost obsessively but once I learned the rhythm of every single joke and gag watching it again felt really hollow. I can rewatch Parks and Rec and Community and Cheers over and over because I still find the character dynamics fun even if I’ve memorized every punchline but that didn’t work with

Comic book superheroes. There, I said it. I grew up on comic books, I was as big a superhero fan as anyone. But enough already. Also post-apocalypse dystopian society stories. These two genres used to be at (least nominally) metaphors for real world issues. Now they’re just endlessly self-referential circle jerks.

We get it. You’ve got a hard on for Lana del Rey. That’s about as surprising as the fact that you spend all of your free time commenting on this site.

American ‘celebrity culture’ really does seem to at its nadir these days.

*dresses up as an angel* “Don’t call me angel”

just in case anyone was wondering if this movie might be at least fun, this should be the nail in the coffin

Now playing

I see the weird school from the “Total Eclipse of the Heart” video is still open.

Dammit. Here’s to that Daniel Johnston/Eddie Money collaboration we never got here on Earth taking off in the afterlife.

To this day, neither of them can write a lyric to save their lives. They’ll always be shit for it. In fact, I’ve worked out a formula:

Beaten with the crossword and jumble section of the newspaper every day growing up

Scraping the bottom of the “Great Job Internet” barrel today.  Can’t imagine anything more tedious than someone nattering on for a half-hour about Ursula and Phoebe.
