Checking out a song or two may be worthwhile but I think the curious would be best rewarded by sitting down and listening to whole albums from start to finish. Obviously “The Hounds of Love” would be the logical place to start. Live with it for a week or two and move back to “The Dreaming” and “Never For Ever.” Take

Gwen,

Well this is weird. I was just thinking about him last night before going to sleep. The guy was kind of a fixture in my childhood pop culture from THE BOATNIKS and that campy/disturbing NIGHT GALLERY episode (based on a story by children’s author Joan Aiken) and a whole lot of TV stuff. He was utter perfection in MAD

If only the real world mirrored THE QUATERMASS CONCLUSION. Sigh. The world would be such a better place if all tourists (hell, most of the human race) were zapped into ambergris...

I have had access to a family member's account (that they, yes, paid extra for) and haven't watched more than a few hours worth of content in two years. That well is DRY.

I’d say more disinterest than hate. Many of the other prog. bands were flashier or trashier which helped but I suspect the main issue was Lee’s voice (although that didn’t seem to hurt Yes). I think you could also make an argument that their music was perhaps a little dry and mathy for the time. I don’t remember

You forgot the most important thing leaving Netflix: their subscribers....

Well, I don’t blame her for that pipe dream but I don’t see it happening. Matt Weiner is pretty much persona non grata these days and streaming era TV is so obsessively high concept and increasingly focused on fan boys with very little interest in female-centered shows (see Rachel Shukert’s recent interviews) so good

The woman’s explanation is very plausible. I once dated a woman from another city about 60 miles away. Once while staying at my place when I was at work she walked down to the neighborhood video store, walked in and asked if I had an account and finding out I did rented a bunch of movies. No questions asked.

It seems pretty obvious he’s making fun of himself. Sure it went over like a lead balloon but that’s pretty typical of Oscar humor. It doesn’t surprise me that the humor impaired Kinja worker bees (and their gatekeepers *wink*) didn’t pick up on it.

Hey Lorne, I hear Scott Rudin's schedule is clear!

Careful with the Jesus comments. Kinja put me in the grey doghouse for making a Jesus crack earlier this week. Seriously. In the year 2021.

When you get a straight-to-series order only to have the network kill the show after seeing the pilot...is not a good sign. I think it’s possible to do a thoughtful, funny, quality series about older people but not more grumpy old men shit and not with these two actors. I’d love to Christopher Lloyd and James Burrows

I’ve noticed the same thing. Baroque music makes for a great mental lubricant.

This stuff is fine for light reading, late at night when I’m trying to wind down and shut my brain off. If I listen to it for too long, though, I get bored stiff and it can actually begin to annoy me. I find some of the denser ambient stuff by Brian Eno or Morton Feldman works better. Typically I need a little more

The actual history of christianity is fascinating and freaky stuff. There’s enough bat shit zealotry and bloody power struggles to put “Game of Thrones” to shame. The problem is finding a filmmaker and a network/streamer with the backbone to treat it like it is, history. The minute you start pretending magic is real,

“Loosely inspired by-”

Personally, I’ve never cared much for the man’s performances but he did have a reputation for being really nice to the crews he worked with and that counts for a lot in my book.

I will happily go to my grave being unable to wrap my head around every aspect of this.
