I agree ToSeek. And for @Coleberg, Sarah Jane did wield a sniper rifle on "Pyramids of Mars". The image of her pretty face and Victorian Era lace dress, on one knee, lining up that shot at smelting jellinite ... badass.
Too obscure maybe? You'd be surprised by the number of people who haven't read Asimov's work.
Good call ... except Sherlock Holmes isn't Science Fiction is it? Is it? I dunno. I thought it was just Fiction.
This is a cool article, Meredith.
Wait! Wait! You put in the Brigadier and not Sarah Jane Smith? For shame!
Extended Universe fact or not ... its dumb.
I agree with this analysis. Pretty spot on and more succinct than my rambling post. :)
Just got home from a John Carter showing. I was amazed.

"I tried to just avoid it, because it [race aspect] seemed unnecessary."
The word Syfy precludes me from believe that I would enjoy it.
You mean true in the sense that its almost a complete rewrite of the main character's backstory?
Clearly John Carter has just beat the hell out of a group of green Martians ... this is their blood staining the Martian wilds.
You need higher resolution, better glasses, or something better to do with your time. :)
... I ... I have tears in my eyes. I'm fucking jacked up for this movie!
I think I'm with a lot of people in the comments on this entry—I don't really know what your position is supposed to be. Maybe the headline could be adjusted to make things more clear.
