Thanks for that! First laugh I’ve had since that “slide”.

Yeah, it sucked. Just hope that Baseball Karma sees to it that the Dodgers do not profit from this. Mets in 4!
You must have meant that for some other commenter. I said nothing of the sort.
He was parallel with the base before he went down, far on the outfield side. If he had even attempted to reach for the bag, which he did not, he could not have reached it because he was too far away from it to do so.
Agreed, on both counts. But guys get plunked for stunts like that because of the nonexistent punishment that will be forthcoming from MLB. That sort of shit gets you red-carded in soccer. In hockey, even if you somehow manage to avoid a penalty at the time, you can still catch an extensive suspension after the fact…
What rules?
Not an Internet tough guy. Merely the Voice of Reason.
The hell with the rule book. As a 2nd baseman, Utley knows good and damn well that if you take somebody out with a late, high slide while they’re trying to turn a DP, you can fucking well expect to get your wig split as a consequence. Utley never even pretended like he was trying to touch the bag. Dirty slide. Period.
Now, he is.
Depends on the situation. Maybe next AB, maybe next game, maybe next season. He’s got one coming, tho.
Utley needs to catch one straight in his motherfucking ear hole.
Well, that’s fitting. There were quite a few Lions fans that were looking to target Matt Millen when he was GM.
JaVale, Andray Blatche and then-rookie Swaggy P were also on that squad.
More stars!! MORE STARS, I SAY!!!!
“Every single one of us”?
No wonder he always drives to his left.
I see that you’ve been having quite the conversation on this issue today. I don’t have a bunch of time right now, so I’ll keep this kinda short.
Except that when you compared the “cultures” of the white people and Hispanics living in poverty to “black culture” you failed to recognize the one “economic and capitalistic” factor that is not only exclusive to African-American culture, but is the very reason why an African-American culture exists in the first…
I was hoping you’d notice that!
Probably about what you’d expect. That’s him on the right.
